Three days grace - Life starts now

I have to say after their first 2 albums I was a huge fan. Well their 3rd album juust came out and I can't put my finger on it, but I'm just not a big fan of this one.there are no real stand out tracks. I am a fan of the band but this album has left me under whelmed

It feels like this album is a little slower than the others. Most just don't have that kick I would expect out of Three Days Grace. But it isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination.

I listened to the first half of the CD on the way to work this morning, I'll listen to it all week and see how I like it. So far I had no real complaints. But yeah, there was no song I liked immediately more than some of their previous stuff. But for me, sometimes it takes a couple listens before a new song outplays a favorite from the past.

Re: Three days grace - Life starts now

I loved their first album. Didn't like the 2nd one. The only song I liked off One-X was Animal I Have Become.

The new one sounds like what 2nd one should have been. Has the same feel as the first one but you can tell they've progressed in their song writing and producing.

Some of my favorite tracks off Life Starts Now(in order): World So Cold, Break, Someone Who Cares, Life Starts Now, and Bitter Taste.

With this album they were in danger of becoming a Nickelback. Prior to Nickelback getting all the play on Top40 stations they were a solid rock band. After Silver Side Up it just went downhill and the albums got saturated with "pop" rock. I haven't heard a solid Nickelback song since their album The Long Road. Luckily I think TDG avoided becoming a pop rock band and I doubt we see any of the songs make the crossover to top40. Overall, if this were their 2nd album I'd give it a 9/10. But the actual 2nd album wasn't that great to me so as a 3rd album I'll give it an 8/10.

I didn't like this at first, but like most people, its growing on me. It feels slightly more "mature" than their older stuff and sounds like they've progressed some

I miss being able to listen to music at work. We can only bring in commercial CDs, so since I buy most of my music off amazon.com or something like that, I can't bring it in since it is on a CD-R. Makes the day go by a lot slower. I do have an hour and a half in the car tonight though, so I should be able to get a couple listens to the CD, so I'm looking forward to that.

I know what you mean. I love driving somewhere that's an hour or more away so I can get some good listens to new albums. That's how most of my favorite CD's became that way.

Because anything can be on a CD-R, just because it's labeled music doesn't mean that's what it is. The place I work has strict security rules about what can be put in your computer.

I got to listen to the album a couple more times last night. Even the songs I didn't think I liked the first time through, I liked more the second time. Still, I didn't hear a standout hit just yet that compares to the old stuff, but I like the new stuff.
