    Modern Family

Anyone watch this tonight? It was actually pretty damn funny... they've got me for at least a few more episodes.

Awesome show. I actually thought it was better then the pilot of "the office" and "community"...Which should tell you a lot.

I don't really laugh out loud that much, but this show was ridiculously funny...Especially the lion king part haha

      Re: Modern Family

Indeed, I like how the show takes the whole "following a family" reality show concept and turned it on its head. Ed O'Neil is a real hoot! I do think at some point the writers are going to run out of situations and such if this show becomes a hit.

Personally I think at some point they're going to have to push this into a quasi-Improv situation where the writers give a general idea and the actors play with it. Anyways, this show has me hooked but the last ABC show I liked got canned early on so hopefully this one lasts a while.

I missed it too, forgot about it.

Glad to hear it's as funny as I expected, though.

My favorite subplot of the episode was the whole "manny is in love" aspect and then the father basically crapping all over him.

It was ok, I'll watch some more to see if I really like it or not. It just reminded me of Arrested Development, and so I kept comparing it to that, and maybe that's why I thought it was just ok.

Snap, I really wanted to watch this. I'll be checking it out tomorrow online or OnDemand. If it is anything like Arrested Development then I am sold.

Definitely found this to be hilarious.

Scheduling the shooting. Gold. Everyone just huddled around the computer.

The father (shooter) is great. When he's talking about the stare. "Nice to meet you, but not really." Always trying to be hip. "I know all the lingo. LOL - Laugh Out Loud. OMG - Oh my God. WTF - Why the face?" Haha.

The Lion King entrance had me rolling.
                              - I'm so excited!
                              - Will you bring it down?
                              - I can't help it, it's who I am.
                              - I mean the music.

It's a funny look at how times have changed. "Mom, why are you shouting when we're upstairs? Just text me."

I looking forward to seeing Ed O'Neill play the old guy that just doesn't get it...or at least I'm assuming he's going to play that role considering the show is about modern families.

I also liked how everything was tied together at the end. I didn't expect that.
"It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace
