The trailer looks very good. Growing up, I was scared of Freddy but after watching the original a couple of times, I thought it was the second best horror movie made (behind Halloween). I can't wait for the remake to come out next year. JEH will make a great Freddy and I'm interested in the back story they have set up for him.

At the beginning of Freddy vs. Jason there's a short flashback that shows Freddy going through a scrapbook about his killings and it shows parents lobbing Molotov Cocktails in his boiler room and burning him.

        Its short but it's something.

Looks like a good remake, but I don't like the new voice of Freddy at all.

I was thinking the same thing. WTF

            I'll probably still see it.

New longer trailer. I keep thinking of Rorshach from Watchmen for obvious reasons whenever Freddy talks. Slick trailer though.

By the way, David Cassidy's daughter is supremely hot.

Wow, that trailer looks great IMO. I'm not a big fan of remakes but it looks like they've captured the spirit of the ORIGINAL Nightmare which was by far the scariest. The later ones got all campy and silly, fun to watch but not scary at all. This looks like it could be a good reboot.

Apparently a lot of people did considering what it earned, but the reviews made it sound so bad I decided to pass.

I went and saw it and let me tell you..it was TERRIBLE. People were laughing throughout the show (in parts that were supposed to be scary, not funny) and it was all my date and I could do to stay awake. The characters are dull, shallow, older people playing teenagers (sorry to say but these people do not look in high school to me). Honestly this is the biggest issue here, you really don't care for any of the characters as they are all so dull and shallow. But they're not mean or vain enough to make you want to root for them to die either. All movie all they do is run around in the dark and cry and cower and stuff and then they get killed.

Oh and as for the kills, the only good one in the entire movie really is the very first one. I mean they are so unimaginative and just straight up that it's lame. I figure they wanted to get away from the huge theatrical kills of the first series and 'get back to basics" but the fact is that Freddy is just mostly a one trick pony.

Also, as I'm sure you guys have heard, they made Freddy more creepy in a disturbing way than a homicidal one. There's one particular scene that is quite uncomfortable (but also happens to be one of the more imaginative scenes).

All in all, this will never get a sequel I don't believe. My date said it was boring and pointless as well. I can't believe I spent money on that. I'm not even sure I'd recommend you guys rent it on DVD when it comes out. You'd be better off just re-renting some of the earlier movies IMO. This movie goes on my "wipe this from my mind, it never happened" list of movies I wish I had passed on completely. It only serves to, IMO, ruin what was once a great franchise. FAIL.

I actually thought it was pretty good as far as remakes go. They didn't ruin the original, and that was about all I was hoping for. Good enough to see in theaters.

There is nothing really funny about this Freddy though. You will be highly disappointed. Also, i'm not against remakes or anything, I've actually liked most of the horror remakes done lately by Hollywood, but this one was just awful.
