Unfortunately, the less released alternate ending was great. It's too bad they didn't go there. I think some people had trouble with it once the CGI showed up, which was really after about halfway through.

The other one I wanted to put in my OP but forgot was "The Ring".
What wards off creepy little girls from the well? Making sure my Blockbuster subscription is up to date! Had I been safe with a betamax version? c'mon.Comment

Re: Had Me Then Lost Me ~~ Movies Starting Strong / Ending Poorly
I will have to go with I am Legend as well.... the build up to the ending was, well..... Crap. The ending was just not what i would have thought would have been a great completion to a pretty good move to that point. I remember my wife looking at me like, what just happened here? Was that IT?

Re: Had Me Then Lost Me ~~ Movies Starting Strong / Ending Poorly
There was a story behind it all, about the curse spreading and what not. I'm just disappointed how easy that was for the characters to figure out amidst anything else it could have been.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

The OP is right on with Dreamcatcher. I was on the edge of my seat for half the movie
Another idea to think about is the opposite...movies that did nothing in the beginning and then blindsided you and turned great.Comment

Arlington Road did that for me. Was bored up until the last 30 minutes. Tim Robbins is a GOOD villian.Comment

Wedding Crashers is the PERFECT example. First 2/3rds of the movie was absolutely hilarious, and the last 1/3rd was terrible and canned.Comment
