Unfortunately, the less released alternate ending was great. It's too bad they didn't go there. I think some people had trouble with it once the CGI showed up, which was really after about halfway through.

YES. So tight for 2/3 of its runtime, and then it just goes to hell in the final act.

The other one I wanted to put in my OP but forgot was "The Ring".

What wards off creepy little girls from the well? Making sure my Blockbuster subscription is up to date! Had I been safe with a betamax version? c'mon.

See the alternate ending if you can. There are some things I like less about it, but you may appreciate the effort a bit more IMO.

I thought that movie was great from beginning to end.

28 Days Later and Sunshine both turned to **** near the end.

I'm not saying there wasn't a scary/creepy factor to this. But, you were okay with having to have

There was a story behind it all, about the curse spreading and what not. I'm just disappointed how easy that was for the characters to figure out amidst anything else it could have been.

The OP is right on with Dreamcatcher. I was on the edge of my seat for half the movie

Another idea to think about is the opposite...movies that did nothing in the beginning and then blindsided you and turned great.

Arlington Road did that for me. Was bored up until the last 30 minutes. Tim Robbins is a GOOD villian.

Wedding Crashers is the PERFECT example. First 2/3rds of the movie was absolutely hilarious, and the last 1/3rd was terrible and canned.
