    From her own words:

Shouldn't she be the one to have the final say in the matter?
No. She's moved on. She seems to be @ a good point in her life & I'm happy for her.

But what about the other girls? What about the others that won't be able to move on? What about future 13 yr old girls? This won't be the popular thing to say, but she's under obligation, its her duty, to see this thing through. Saying she doesn't want it to be pursued is telling pedophiles, rapists, pedophile rapists, that time cures all wounds. She can't be a coward about this, no matter how difficult it maybe. She must reveal how sickening this crime is.

And time isn't always a cure-all. Not for everyone. Some are never able to be intimate. Some grow up w/twisted ideas about sex. Mental disease & depression. Nightmares. Suicidal. Abusers themselves.

This isn't just about Polanksi & her. This is about what we permit in our society. As pfunk said, a precedent will be set. Let him go, & every lawyer defending a fugitive will bring up Polanksi as a reason for leniency. "My client wasn't as bad as Roman Polanski." You send him to jail like he should be & you tell every fugitive, "You run & we get our hands on you, you will pay your penalty. SO DON'T DO IT."

When people know the most severe penalty will come their way, its a hinderance. Why isn't there a gambling problem in baseball, but there is a steroid problem? Because punishment for gambling is so severe. There is life in baseball after a positive test. There is no life in baseball after a bet.

Society cannot allow its laws to be circumvented so blatantly w/impunity. Justice must be served.

Commit rape in America and you will be punished. Sounds about right.

I just read the girl's testimony. Crazy stuff. I can't believe people are defending him.

Need to add 5 years for that one.

Know how in some of those Middle East countries they cut off fingers for stealing stuff? I always felt a similar penalty should be applied to these types of crimes as well.
