    Thanks for interpeting my English.
Or perhaps you need to be more clear. My reading is just fine.

I don't need to be 1 ounce clearer. What you need to do is clear the fog out of your head. It was understandable to others.

Have no problem w/your reading. Its your comprehension that leaves much to be desired.

        Hostile much?

You were unclear, and even another person completely misunderstood you.

Get over yourself; what you said could easily have been taken two ways. It was fairly ambiguous...

It could have been taken another way if you tried to read between the lines stuff that wasn't there.

You show me where in this statement did I say it was OK for him to cheat.

So since he still wasn't married, that would make him a free man. Nothing she could use if she wanted to divorce him.

I understand why that would be a story. I don't understand why the extortioner would think all of that would be embarrassing enough to Letterman that he would let himself be strong armed into giving away 2 mil. Most men would put it on their resume.

I already did... I'm not going to be pulled into a stupid argument. I already made my point clear.

Easy guys...just a misunderstanding of the context of a statement. The problem with typing vs. talking is often times the context and tone of which something is said gets completely lost. This is just one of those situations. Lets not make it more than that.

Hah! I'm pulling you???? You pulled me into your web of confusion. I stated a simple opinion & you guys got it all twisted cause you didn't take the time to understand it.

Ok this is where the problem starts. Legally he is a free man as he is not married so the laws that apply to cheating on your wife do not apply to cheating on your girlfriend. No one said its fine to cheat he was talking about what the law or divorce lawyers would try to use. Since he wasnt married they dont have much to use. No where did he say it was right. You read it your own way dont blame him.

I'm fine man. I just got off nightshift & cranky. I just get tired of people having the words right there on their screen for them to read, re-read, re-re-read & they still get it wrong. Then they blame me for their screwup. This place is littered w/guys trying to reinterpet plain English, trying to find some hidden meaning like women twisting their husband's words.

I get why the blackmail is such a huge issue, but I don't get why Letterman sleeping with co-workers is a big issue? Even if Dave had been in a serious relationship for 20+ years, his sex-life is his business and we've got no place to judge.

I pretty much assume that every guy on television is slaying co-workers.

                      Well, maybe not Conan.

I understand what he means - thanks, though. I read it in a way he didn't mean for me to, as did another person - but apparently jon here is super pissed that his message was ambiguous and has to go off on it. Not sure what his problem is, but I'm not going to bother reading any more of his posts in this thread, so don't worry about it being dragged off course.

He talked about it on his show. For something this creepy, he had some nice jokes about it.

The thing is - is it creepy?

He never said he had an affair. He said he had sexual relations with people who worked for him. Although the articles I've read state they don't know when these events took place, or under what circumstances - they still keep saying he admitted to an affair, when he's said no such thing.

So I'm kind of curious as to what the real deal is. Is the media sensationalizing this or what?

I think the audience was a bit confused especially because of his lead in. They laughed (for really no reason) when he said he had a package in his car and again when he said that note referenced that he had done some bad things. At that point where he was taking the story was anyones guess.

I think at first they thought it was going to be a joke due to the nature of his dry sense of humor...listening to the whole thing at first was a bit uncomfortable simply for the fact that you didn't know what it was about and whether or not he was being serious or leadining in to some punch line.

Kind of like when Michael Richards apologized on Letterman for that outburst at the comedy club. The crowd would interject with these random laughs because they honestly couldn't tell if he was really torn up or joking.

That was one of the most uncomfortable things I've ever seen.
