I pretty much assume that every guy on television is slaying co-workers.

    Well, maybe not Conan.
This to me is a big issue. A boss should never sleep with his employees it isn't right and it's not ethical. You can say people will be people but you do have to have limits.

This is the same thing that was wrong with the Clinton/Lewinski scandle, as a boss and especially President there are so many compromising situations that you can be put into that could hurt your company and country and that's why companies frown on this behaviour. But for some reason no one has ethics anymore.

In Lettermans case it resulted in blackmail for cash but what if they wanted other stuff.
I having a tough time putting into words how bad it is but if you really think about it it is a very different situation than just having sex.

Yeah - they had no idea what it was going to be about. Watching it from a news article, we all knew what he was going to say. I thought it was odd at first until I thought about that.

No, I meant being blackmailed is kind of creepy. Someone using stuff against you that very few people know about has to be such an odd feeling

First of all I got to hand it to Letterman for revealing what happened. Most other celebs would deny deny deny until the whole sordid truth comes out. He did this to protect the person he slept with and her family and he took the fall for it.

We don't even know how long ago this was (unless it was revealed and I didn't see it) We don't even know if he's still doing it as well. I assume he loves his wife and kid a ton and wouldn't want to end that. I mean hell, the man was with his now common law wife for 20+ years!

Anyways I don't condone what he's done but at the very least I applaud him for coming out and telling what the blackmail was about and getting it out of the way.

Even Letterman has young hot women going after him because he's a big celebrity. Let's not take the moralistic high ground here because if youre rich and famous like he is and had women throwing themselves at you everyone here would be doing the same thing.

The only reason most average people don't stray is because the opportunity is not there to have a quickie with an attractive woman who is infatuated with you're fame so cut the guy some slack because we would all give in to the same temptation if put in the same situation. Think about it, if you're making a movie with Angelina Jolie and she's willing are you gonna say "no".

Bad example bro, I'd say HELL NO! I mean didn't she sleep with her own brother once? or at the very least had a hot makeout session with. Either way, no thanks.

And I'm sure Angelina is heartbroken about this. The only place where it was reported she slept with her brother is in the Enquirer.

                    Re: Letterman Gets Around

The big question: Do the other late night hosts touch this subject? All of them use big current events to crack jokes and this Letterman story fits the bill.

How is Dave suppose to make jokes about people being unfaithful anymore? When the John Edwards story broke, he was all over it. It has been a very eventful year for him. He got married, had the Palin situation to deal with, and now this.

Dave couldn't keep his pecker in his pants and now he's going to pay the price.

It was an extortion plot. His choices were to either pay $2M, or make this public. He chose to make it public. Not exactly a courageous move after you're presented with an incriminating packet of evidence in your limo one day.

And he didn't do it to protect the family of whoever he slept with, he did it to protect his own family - he said that himself during his admission on his show....which was played for laughs, by the way. One wonders if any of the female members of his audience were laughing.

For someone who spent a lot of time ripping on the infidelity of others and who attacked Sarah Palin's family, all for laughs, all I have to say is....what goes around comes around.

Okay thanks, a bulk of my response was based on a report I saw on TV last night as I didn't watch the show (was watching some movies instead) In that case...I agree, what goes around comes around.

Why does he need to protect his family? I don't understand that one. But then again I don't understand how anyone thinks monogamy works in any society.
