        I guess when someone is trying to blackmail you for $2M, who knows how far they would go if he didn't pay up or meet their needs, maybe harm or kidnap a family member or worse...I'm sure that would be going through my mind in a similar situation. Who's to say that if he had paid the money, this all goes away. Maybe it paints himself as weak and open to further blackmail.

          Did you guys hear how he got the blackmail note? The guy left it in his car @ his house. I think that's pretty scary as a family man. As any man. Especially a guy who had one of the most famous celebrity stalking cases in history.

              The guy cut his losses:

              A TV producer has pleaded guilty to trying to shake down David Letterman over the comic's sexual affairs.

              Robert "Joe" Halderman entered his guilty plea to attempted grand larceny Tuesday in a Manhattan court.

              He is being sentenced to six months in jail, five years of probation and 1,000 hours of community service.
