    Is there really a difference?

I'm putting some songs onto my iTunes and I'm wondering if I should bother changing the bit rate. I think it defaults to 256 but has the ability to do 320. Is there really any noticeable difference between the two?

I've already done about 50 songs so I'd rather just keep it the way it is. Also, how much more space would doing it at the highest quality setting take up? I have a iPhone 3G S (32 GB) but I don't really know how many songs that will hold.

    Thanks in advance.

I don't know if it's a real noticable difference but to me the highest quality just means that all the songs are uniform in sound. Now this is between 160 and 320 kb but even if the songs are from different genres, the volume, bass, treble don't flucuate that much when I'm on the highest quality. And they sound better, but again that's b/c I'm going from 128 or 160 to 320.

I'm no audiophile... i can't really hear the difference between 128 and 160...

There is a difference between the two, but if you can't notice it, then I would say keep settings as low as possible until the quality starts to bother you. if you're trying to have as much space as possible while still having pretty decent quality, i'd go with 192.
