Same here. In fact, my system is much faster going in and out of sleep than it was under XP.

That's great to hear about Dell laptop and the sleep issue working now, maybe I will upgrade after all. First I need to get the Dell running again, the motherboard died. Dell is coming out in the next few days to replace it. Once I get running again I will start looking for a good deal on Windows 7.

I am having the same issues as well, but luckily I have a usb mouse attached. I have also been having issues when I am typing words and the cursor will just move to some random spot in the word document that I am typing in. I have a gateway nv52

Windows + Shift + Up Arrow is the better short cut

Also, if you are working on multiple monitors, Windows + Shift + Right/Left Arrow moves the window to the other monitor.

Windows + Home minimizes all other windows except you current one

Windows +1/2/3... Opens the program at the # spot on your task bar.

Shift + Clicking program (Or clicking with the mouse wheel) in task bar opens a new instances of it (Great for multiple browser windows.)

You have to do it on a window that is not vertically maximized

Re: Anyone upgrading to Windows 7?

Finally upgraded my four-year-old PC with more memory (4 gigs) and took the leap to Windows 7 64-bit.
Sadly, for whatever reason, the PC still shows 3.25 gigs of usable RAM, despite the fact it shows 4 gigs overall.

That said, Windows 7 is very nice ... though I suspect my PC's old BIOS could turn out to be a hindrance.

                      I love the taskbar.

It's probably because you don't have a discrete videocard dave374.

Edit: However, you may be on to something. I am checking for newer drivers and ATI software.

Are you running the 64-bit edition, and do you have a 64-bit processor?

Yes and yes. That's why I upgraded to 4GB of RAM.

Driver update didn't solve my problem.

Re: Anyone upgrading to Windows 7?

I just got done doing a clean install of windows 7. I always usually do a clean install, I wanted Vista completly off my computer to really test this out. I only did it because my roommate just got it and had 3 licenses so I thought what the hey.

This was extemely easy to install, I've never formatted an Hd that quick! Probably because I'm used to XP taking a day to format an HD.

I usually backup my files once a month so I had everything to go, but I honestly don't know what my advantages are for 7. I'm sure I can look up something quickly but what are some of the big advantages that I should know switching from Vista to 7?

EDIT: For 1 I love the quick bar already. Very nice
