Re: Anyone upgrading to Windows 7?

Got my free upgrade from my company a while ago. I don't use it at home since I'm a Mac user but it is a lot more efficient than Vista. The GUI was not only enhanced but rebuilt (FINALLY) with 7 so it much faster and also uses less RAM.

I would recommend doing it if you feel the need to.

Using less RAM is good. Vista eats RAM for breakfast lol. It would just be for personal use, so I am debating whether or not I have better things to spend the $120 on.Got my free upgrade from my company a while ago. Re: Anyone upgrading to Windows 7?

Windows 7 is awesome. Installed it on the new PC I just built. After using it for a day, I went and upgraded my laptop's RAM just so I could upgrade from XP to 7.Comment

Re: Anyone upgrading to Windows 7?

I was using the release candidate, but I went back to XP. The reason being that while 7 has some great features, it really still offers no real reason to move.

Some of my programs that work perfectly on XP don't work well on 7, and some various other things.

 Not worth the move, yet.Comment

 Same here. I can't wait.

Yeah, there's probably going to be some hiccups going from XP, but to be fair, XP is almost eight years old now. I'm ready to make the switch, and my computer could use a cleanup anyways so this is a good excuse.Green Bay Packers | Milwaukee Brewers | Bradley Braves | Wisconsin Badgers

Re: Anyone upgrading to Windows 7?

I have had the final build on my laptop for a little over a month now, and I love it. Very efficient, clean, and fast. If you are running Vista I can't think of one reason to not upgrade. I would upgrade from XP but I know that there's people out there that cling to XP for dear life still.Comment

Re: Anyone upgrading to Windows 7?

This is what I am telling my users when they ask me about their home PC. It's also to save me the agony of getting the questions of programs that worked on XP that now doesn't work on 7 and me explaining why I can't and don't want to work after hours on their home PC.

But I am tempted to build a new PC with 7. I built this P4 2.80 ghz beast back in '04. It was a beaut' and top of the line I tell you.Comment
