Really? Maybe try calling your cable provider, could be alot of people were complaining in my market and they fixed the feed somehow because I doubt Fox uses cheaper hidef cameras and thier TV show look great. It's been 2 weeks in a row it's improved.

I've had two different providers in the past two years though and it seems the same to me, so maybe I am just imagining things.Comment

Re: Why does Fox HD for sports look like crap?
This week was the first in a while that I've watched a FOX game and it was horrible. I watched both on DTV and OTA.
The weekly shows look fine and baseball hasn't been that bad.Comment

Re: Why does Fox HD for sports look like crap?
Video: I actually prefer Fox. I think it looks the best on our Sony 1080p 120 hz TV. CBS and NBC tend to get pixely when things get really fast, Fox stays nice and smooth. The only problem that I have is the once or twice a game we lose picture for a couple seconds.
Audio: CBS rules. Watching with a Sony 1000 watt 5.1 system and it's fantastic. The sub actually kicks in whenever there's a stat transition because of the super loud "woooosh" noise that CBS uses. As far as Fox and NBC, I think their commentary is set too low. Too much crowd noise.
No ESPNHD yet, as we just got the TV and haven't ordered the Dish Net HD receivers yet, so I can't judge that. Though ABCHD, which i'm assuming is the same, looked decent for the 4 seconds I watched NASCAR before getting bored. I'll wait until NBA season to really judge them.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Re: Why does Fox HD for sports look like crap?
Fox is fine for me, ABC HD is absolutely HORRIBLE in my city. ESPNHD is only slightly better than ABC's HD which makes no sense since it should be the same hardware, no?
For me, best to worst...
1. NBC (SNF is stunning)
2. YES (Yanks/Nets games are amazing)
3. CBS
4. Fox
5. ESPN

I had this problem also. They dont provide you with an hdmi cable (which they should) or even tell you about it, but yeah the port is there for it in the back. You will be amazed full picture big difference. HDMI cableComment

Re: Why does Fox HD for sports look like crap?
Oddly, the regional FSN stuff looks better than the main Fox network broadcasts.
Don't forget, your local affiliate plays a big part in how a given network will look, whether OTA,cable or satellite.
For example, the CBS affiliate here multicasts three channels in the given bandwidth for the network feed. They run CBS,the CW and a weather radar.
To do this, they down-res CBS to 720p.The HD is bit-starved.
The only network affiliate here that doesn't multicast is the NBC one,and the picture quality is outstanding.PS3/PS4 BradCompanyComment

I use to like Fox a lot with the NFL but I watch CBS more for Bengals games. CBS NFL broadcasts are boring though, just the presentation and overlays. I love the CBS pregame show and Gus Johnson but I dont know something about CBS and football doesnt get me pumped up for the game like it does in college basketball.Ohio State - Reds - Bengals - Blackhawks - BullsComment
