Actually as long as the transfer rates are fine, and you have a fast enough card, SD or HD it shouldn't matter too much performance wise.

I hear what you're saying, I used to have an iPhone and I jailbroke it.

But the thing is this, with how big the iPhone has become, everyone and their brother seems to be getting one.

The market started off as a group of "geeks" who read forums and check out blogs and cream their pants at the thoughts of a new jailbreak release etc.

But the market is a lot more watered down, with people who have no idea what a jailbreak is, are now getting iPhones.

So you can't really slam them for making an advertisement saying they support open development and yada yada yada.

The consumer of the product shouldn't have to figure out a workaround to obtain those features and void their warranty in the process (I know, it's easily restored. But your average iPhone user at this point probably doesn't know what a jailbreak is and would be scared off at the thought of voiding their warranty).

Everything you just said can apply to the "fix" for programs being limited by memory.

I don't understand why people want to take the stance for their grandmother when it doesn't even impact them. You're here, you're aware of the difference, yet you argue for the guy that doesn't.

If that's the case, let them continue to be oblivious. Ignorance is bliss.

Or, if you know that person, inform them and show them.

BTW, the device does not have multi-touch capabilities. Just letting ya know.

The GSM version does so I'm guessing it's only a short matter of time before we see it here as well.

The HTC droid coming out tomorrow for VZW most definitely does have multi-touch capabilities like the iPhone. If by that you mean like the pinch and grab to expand type touch with two fingers. I just watched a video about it and it showed the guy doing just that.

From what I understand the device does support multitouch but several critical applications (Browser and navigation) do not currently support it.

Motorola and Google have both made it sound like it's something verizon disabled. If that's the case, it will be hacked within a week of release if not sooner.

No. You double tap the screen to zoom in. Keep double touching and it continues to zoom in. When you double tap, an icon with + and - appear that you can hit to zoom back out or zoom in.

Yeah from the reviews I've read it doesn't work very well. Hopefully the lack of pinch and zoom is fixed or hacked.

it supports multitouch, it's just not enabled. i think i recall reading somewhere that this one even supports not just 2 fingers for multitouch, but 3 (not sure how or why you'd even need that, but it's there). devs will definitely have it enabled in no time though, just like on the G1

There's a video on youtube of someone directly comparing the 3gs and the droid. Very nice as the droid holds its own. The App store seems to be a "heavy hitter" however. And in their one test, AT&T's network was actually faster. Wouldn't have thought that.

I'd like to see what a hacked droid is capable of vs. a jailbroken iPhone. Right now, a jailbroken iPhone is probably the best phone you can get on the market in terms of what it is capable of, especially for IT people.

the guys here say if you do get a Droid tomorrow be SURE to get teh HTC one as it's much, much better than the Motorola one..
