Twisted Pictures Acquires Texas Chainsaw Massacre Franchise

Twisted Pictures - who make the Saw movies - have bought the rights to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.

According to Variety the production house is set to make a contemporary 3-D update of the classic slasher with a script from Stephen Susco (The Grudge).

Apparently talks with Platinum Dunes - who produced the previous two Chainsaw Massacres - fell apart, clearing the way for Twisted to step in.

The sixth installment of the hugely successful Saw series is released at the end of October.

The question is, with Leatherface and Jigsaw now under the same roof, when will the iconic baddies go head-to-head, Freddie vs. Jason style? Or is that the worse idea in the world?
I thought they were doing a great job over at Platinum Dunes with this franchise.........now things could just go straight to hell with TP involved.

Totally agree with you. Massacre & Beginning remakes were great.
