I know you don't like HTIaB's, but I want to get some surround sound for my bonus room, I have a 47" Phillips 1080p LCD and DirectTV with HD, and my 360, what advice do you have? I saw a couple HTIaB's in the sears ad, a sony for $350 and I think a samsung for $400. Do they suck that bad?

Target has a WD 1TB External HDD for $59.98. Here's the actual product:

Since my old external HDD crapped out, I think this is the way to go for me.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

I don't recomment them because: made from cheaper parts, less inputs, passive subwoofer, usually have a dvd player instead of a dedicated receiver and very few handle loseless audio.
I wouldn't spend upwards of $300 unless it can handle the lossless audio.
None of those black friday systems can handle lossless audio. So you'd be paying a premium price for Dolby Digital sound which you could get for $100-200. If you want the best sound in a HTIB, it needs to have a HDMI receiver like this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-HT-SS2300.../ref=de_a_smtd
Less than $300 with no taxes and free shipping.
Would be best combined with a PS3 or any blu ray player that does the lossless decoding. This Netflix streaming LG blu ray player is $140 shipped:
http://www.amazon.com/LG-Network-Blu...8230552&sr=1-2
I have the LG player and it works great. Streams netflix, youtube and others.Last edited by GAMEC0CK2002; 11-14-2009, 05:19 PM.Comment

Chances are I'll go outside of Radio Shack maybe a half hour before opening, just so I can get the wireless keyboard/mouse pack and the $30 PlayStation3 Dualshock controller.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: The Way Too Early Black Friday wishlist thread
I'm probably gonna need help either from my gf or brother. I want to hit the amazon.com online sale but need to be camping at Walmart for a plasma HDTV. I'm sure I'll have to get there early b/c of the stupid $200 laptop.Comment

Re: The Way Too Early Black Friday wishlist thread
You should have be good. Mostly people camp out for cheap stuff and not the HDTVs. Also, they'll be camped out at Walmart and Best Buy....Sears is usually a ghost town in my area on BF.
I'm pretty much limited to amazon, sears, and kmart. Amazon has no taxes and free shipping and my brother has an employee discount at sears and kmart.
Unless something crazy happens, I'm Panny plasma or bust.Comment
