Been using it for months at work and at home (MSDN subscription). It's not bad...

What's REALLY cool is how it interacts with Server 2008 and some of the additional functionality. Otherwise, it's just another OS to me.

Another OS, of course, but when compared to Vista, it's flat out better.

Sure, but I think we all knew when Vista came out that is was bloated crap. It reminded me of Windows ME all over again.

I got Vista on my laptop, is it worth it to spend the few hundred dollars to upgrade?

I agree, I've been running all the Beta's and RC's and I just installed the RTM on my desktop last week.
Win 7 is much faster in terms of utilizing my CPU/RAM/GPU when it comes to multitasking/Gaming/Photoshop/etc... I love it, and I won't look back.

Think it'd be worth upgrading from Vista? I honestly haven't had any problems with my current Vista laptop, and not really sure the newness is worth it (since I'm not having issues).

Plus I'm guessing that it's not a good idea to get only the "upgrade" version and I'd hate to have to re-install all my software and whatnot.

I absolutely loathe Vista with all of my inner being.

With that said, I actually don't mind W7. When you don't mind an OS I guess that's saying something.

Still love the Mac OS much, much better.

Personally, I think so. Then again, I had a lot of issues with Vista locking up and causing my desktop and laptop to crawl. W7 hasn't caused that to happen yet.

You're right... I'm 100% against upgrading and always do a fresh install. Everything runs better that way.

Really depends on you. If you aren't having a problem with Vista, then it might not be worth the upgrade. W7 has some additional functionality, but I can't really say if you'll get the benefit from it or not.

Thanks...I'll probably hold off for now, way too much of a pain doing a fresh install at this point. I'll have to keep it in mind though (or perhaps get a cheaper desktop to replace my aging one and use that as a server type running W7)

I love windows 7, absolutely hate the mac os. I've only been on the release candidate though I can only imagine the improvements they've made since then
