    Re: The League

The first two episodes of Season 3 have been tedious and disappointing (imo). I've yet to see the latest one with the AU PAIR.

Brie Larson looks good though. Unfortunately, that's my main reason for watching ep#3.

      Re: The League

Falling into the trap that so many shows fall into.

Get a bit of popularity, create a few "hit" things (sayings, situations, etc), then try to force everything else that comes after it to try and replicate those.

That's why Seinfeld is the greatest show ever. All those "isms" that came out of the show and it hardly ever seemed like they were just forcing things.

The Au Pair episode was pretty good though. First two were good but nothing special.

The last 5 minutes of the second episode is pure win in every way, shape, and form.

            This.

Did anyone watch the sit down with the cast on Hulu? Gave a lot of insight on how an episode is made. It's pretty much guided improv. It's not like they are writing these things into a script.

Seinfeld was consistently funny-The League has not been, and I'm not talking about just this season.

The "porn in the room now unsanitary" crap was a notch below average toilet humor. It's hard to find any humor in the use of swastikas, but they tried it twice and failed both times.

You need to take a step back and stop trying to compare a show about guys in a fantasy football league to Seinfeld.

Toilet humor? This show has never been about well though out humor. It's always been slightly perverted. In episode 1 Taco sings a song and uses the slang word for ejaculation.

OK, well, maybe they should present some more "well thought out" humor.

Seriously, you thought Andre eating some snacks off a "porn riddled" couch and watching his friends gag was amusing? I'm not trying to be an a$$, I really want to know.

I thought I taped the Au Pair episode, but I have to wait for it's replay later in the week.

Just using Seinfeld as an example of a show that has so many "isms" that have come out of it (words/terms that have come into popular use) but not forcing them.

This one had a few in the first two seasons and is now just trying to replicate it.

Can't fault them, I guess, but I hope they can find a bit of their simplicity back. What the hell does making a porno at Andre's pad with Seth Rogen being the ring leader have anything to do with anything?

I think the key word(s) is Seth Rogen.

Sure as hell did, just as I found it hilarious when Taco was filming his vinegar strokes while on Andre's desk.

If they are doing anything wrong, it's trying to cram so many guest stars into things.

This is what I see as a bigger problem. Matt Berry, Seth Rogan? There are supposed to be more. I thought player cameo at the end of season 1 was "cool", the Ochocinco cameo to open season two was awesome. Seth Rogan and Matt Berry were not needed.

I can live with the toilet humor if it helps the story. The apartment porno was an overall weak episode.

I can respect that, I just don't get it. Not a criticism, I'm just not currently feeling this show. I like edgy comedies (Always Sunny In Philly, Curb Your Enthusiasm) but I like to laugh every now and then.

The porn scene seems like something drunk frat boys would get into. That is not a knock at you Burns.

I'll give it two more episodes (Au Pair and this Thursday) before I decide whether or not to keep tuning. Currently I'm watching a lot of shows including an inundation of Big Bang repeats on TBS. (these repeats are my first viewing of the show).

I won't stop watching the show. Crappy League is better than most trash disguised as "comedy".

I'd like to see some more of Jenny and Ruxin's wife though, lol.
