Yeah, Ray Rice went in the second. Using the serpentine method of drafting he was the #11 pick overall. He's a #3 or #4 at worst.

Steven Jackson was number #30 overall but he's actually a #10 or #11.

It doesn't really matter how many months ago this was shot. A player's value and logical draft position (especially established stars) doesn't change much except for injury or incarceration.

I'd say its one big "who cares", lol.

And thanks Bill for the explanation, definitely makes more sense now.

        Re: The League

I know it's just a TV show but I'm a fantasy football nut and if the show pretty much revolves around a fantasy football league then I would expect them to at least draft with a hint of logic.

        Glaring inconsistencies include:

Steven Jackson and DeAngelo Williams both got picked in the 4th round - both guys are late first to early second round talent. Jackson's ADP in ESPN leagues this year was 5th and Williams was 11th. Here they went 30th and 32nd.

Randy Moss and Miles Austin both got picked in the 5th round - both guys are second round talent. Moss' ADP in ESPN fantasy leagues this year was 10th and Austin's was 24th. Here they went 40th and 38th.

Ryan Grant in the 8th round is just cringe worthy. His ADP was 14th and here he went 58th.

Shonn Greene in the 6th round (ADP of 19) and DeSean Jackson in the 7th round (ADP of 26) are also absurd.

Okay, I'll shut up now. You get the idea...

          They anticipated the injury.

Who cares? Don't over analyze a TV show. Obviously these guys are supposed to kind of suck at fantasy football. That's why the one dude's wife would own them all.

And I know this wouldn't completely explain why some people weren't picked as high up, but Andre picked Ochocinco first round, because Chad was there, and the new guy picked Vinatieri. So that would drop guys down two slots because two of the first round picks weren't a normal first round pick.

Yeah, I just don't worry about that and enjoy the show...

They have only 8 people in their league too...every team ends up pretty stacked and tons of sleepers are available on waivers.

It's a tv show, whenever you break down any show you'll end up annoyed.

Yeah, I don't see anyone beating up The Office, saying, "well, if there was a boss like Michael Scott, everyone would get fired"

I thought the episode was decent, "rosterbating" was awesome, but Chad Ocho-Cinco and the song at the end Andre was singing almost ruined the episode for me.

Over analyzing? LOL. Someone responded to a poster saying that the rosters were accurate by fantasy football standards, and some more of us, who have played the game, shot that theory down.

No one suggested that it took away from the show. In fact, too much delving into the nuances and strategies of the game would take too much time and be pretty boring.

After watching the season premiere The League has more to worry about then getting the fantasy football part right.

                        My sentiments exactly.

I just feel that a show whose premise completely revolves around fantasy football, comedy or not, should at least have a hint of accuracy. I don't see a problem with that.

Am I one of the few who sees nothing wrong with the board?

                          Wide Receivers
                          5. Ocho Cince (andre picked him because he was there)
                          9. Fitzgerald
                          10. A. Johnson
                          14. Marshall
                          15. White
                          23. Calvin Johnson
                          28. Jennings
                          30. Wayne
                          33. Moss
                          35. Austin

How in anyway is that so inaccurate? Top running backs and quarterbacks are gonna go before WRs anyways. It is only an 8 team draft so the 25th highest point gainer would be ranked to go with the first pick in the 4th round. If it's a 12 team league he is the first pick of the 3rd round, so of course it looks worse in an 8 team league.

Already mentioned the 8 team versus 12 team factor in another post. Below are ADPs (Average Draft Position) for an 8 TEAM LEAGUE.

Reggie Wayne 4th round, should have been an early 2nd.
Miles Austin 5th round, should have been a middle 2nd.
Randy Moss 5th round, should have been a very early 2nd.
Deshaun Jackson 7th round, should have been an early 3rd.
Ronnie Brown 2nd round, should have been a middle 7th.

And even in QB heavy scoring formats WRs will have the draft position edge over QBs.

They don't really explain the scoring system, it could be a PPR or even a PPC league or something weird. Who knows. I finally watched this and I wasn't overly impressed. I'll tune back in again on DVR again this week, but it better pick up fast or I'll drop it again.

Sounds like a lot of stupid people drafting if Wayne is going anywhere near that high in an 8 person league. Its no wonder I win like 90% of my leagues.
