    AVG Free 9.0?

Are you upgrading? I did right now, because you can never trust the internet anymore. And also, the AVG 8.5 will expire on December 1st so, better now than never.

      I upgraded.

One thing I notice is the virus scan is a lot quicker then it used to be.

Did it go back to what it was? Less system sucking and easy to turn off if need be?

I went for the one month trial AVG Internet Security 9.0, their premium pay product ($54.99). Don't know how to gauge the difference, so I don't know if I'll be buying it after the trial expiration.

I've been using Avast! but I am not really sure I like it.

Got new AVG running now and it does seem like they've done better to reflect more like AVG7 was. Not hogging system as much and easier to shut off if needed.

It sure is. Runs great for me.

Fish.. is that good for a "stand alone" AV? I've been reading reports that MS is good for a "secondary" scanner..

I use to run Avast! in both of my computers, but I've parted ways. I use AVG 9 which runs very well now, and I use Avira Antivir on my other computers. Avira is very lightweight and an excellent program so far.
