Are external HDs really THIS cheap these days?

Am I imagining things or can you buy a 1 terabyte external HD for $100?

I think I bought my 80gig external drive four and a half years ago for $150 (think that's how much it was). That's insane if they've dropped in price that much, I definitely need to upgrade.

Anyone own an external TB HD or have any recommendations?

If you can open your external I would swap out the 80 gb and put in the 1TB would save you $25-35 depending on where you get the 1 TB drive.

But yes they are very cheap now. I spent $115 for a 320gb last year.

They've been like that. I got one from Frys months ago for 100 bucks @ 1TB
