the whole digital OTA conversion thing

I am convinced this was just a ploy by the satellite and cable companies. We use antennas for our 3 TVs in our house still for HD in bedrooms, and even though we are only 30 miles from the antennas, not a single one of our TVs pick up every channel. If we didn't have cable already we would be screwed and forced to get one of the services if we only had 1 TV like a lot of older people do.

Dumb rant I know in the world of satellite and cable, but the entire thing just screwed a lot of people.

If you don't get channels, you need a better antenna.

I also get all the channels, looks like you need a new conspiracy theory.

I'm only getting missing one station that I had before the switch and, strangely enough, that is the station closest to me. The rest I'm picking up on the same signal and I'm getting all the stations that website says I should. My local station obviously wasn't ready and blamed it on the way the digital signal is projected compared to analog.
