Patiently waiting for the Note to come to Sprint. only drawback is that another Note might be on the horizon by the time it comes to Sprint.

I'm getting the impression they won't be getting it. Wouldn't put it past Samsung to have a Note 2 already in the works / being tested. lol

Especially with the Galaxy Nexus dropping, their Evo (flagship) LTE and the Galaxy S III on the horizon...

I hope I'm wrong though, as I might consider buying one off contract.

Adventures in upgrading to Gingerbread hell...

The Infuse 4G finally got it's GB update (there are already ICS ROMs, don't know why I bothered with GB) so I ran it last night. Everything seemed to go well until I left for work aka disconnected from a wifi network.

Nothing worked. No 3G. I had bars, could make/receive calls but nothing else worked. No email, texts, web, etc. Nothing. Rebooted, pulled the battery, blah blah blah. Nothing. Went to the AT&T store and they said since the GB update is so recent that they haven't had any time to spend on it and they recommend factory resetting the phone, that there's nothing else they can do.

So factory reset it is, thankfully that got things working for a while. I got all my apps back on and customized everything and all was good for a few hours until the network dropped again, this time though it said I was connected to the mobile network but now I had the "no smoking" sign where the bars usually are. Reboot the phone four times, still not working. Fifth time was the charm, all of a sudden it started working again. Ridiculous, can't wait to see what tomorrow brings. :

jump on the sprint galaxy nexus even with the new evo on the horizon, the phone is really fast and I love ICS. I guess the deciding factor for me was that it was pure google and that it would get updates a lot faster than the other phones

But it doesn't have a kickstand

Serioulsy, I use the kickstand so much. Manufacturers need to jump on board the kickstand wagon.

I've been so tempted to get the Sprint Galaxy Nexus but have held off since the only real advantage to me are the updates. Other than that, my Epic Touch is the better phone. ICS should be dropping for it soon and once it does i'll be rocking CM9.

So I finally entered the smart phone world and picked up the HTC Vivid. Cool phone, but the Android Marketplace is overwhelming! What kind of apps and add-ons should I look at, or are considered must have.

                  What are you looking for?

I'd start with Tap-A-Talk. You can use this to browse OS and many other forums.

From there it is based on what you are looking for.

There is an app for just about everything.

Right now I figure I just want some productivity apps (calculators, reference stuff, etc), better versions of the stock apps (I'm sure there are improved browsers, map programs, music players) as well as some good games...all preferably free.

Also do you need a screen protector with these phones? My Kindle and Kindle Fire have zero scratches, ditto for my son's iPod Touch. I understand a case of some kind, but screen protectors?

Galaxy S III specs. DAMN, day one.

The Galaxy S III is Samsung's new flagship smartphone and it's finally broken cover at the company's stand-alone Mobile Unpacked event here in London. With a steady stream of fakes, outright leaks and even event rescheduling, Samsung's claimed almost crazy levels of interest for its new smartphone. Weighing in at 133g (4.7 ounces) and whittled to 8.6mm at its thickest, the rounded-off design has more than a little bit in common with its Galaxy Nexus cousin. Of course, it's Samsung's new 1.4GHz Exynos 4 Quad processor doing the legwork, and there's 1GB of RAM to help it out. The display has been bumped up in size to a 4.8-inch HD Super AMOLED affair, sporting a 1280 x 720 pixel count. Happy snappers will have an 8-megapixel rear shooter to play with, and a 1.9-megapixel eye on the front will take care of those video calls. If you were wondering about radios, it's launching with HSPA+, but there's an LTE version in the cards. As for the interface, it's TouchWiz on top of Android 4.0 again, and there's new gesture functions to help you get around. So, there it is, the phone we've all been waiting for (until the next one) but that's not all, be sure to check our hands-on coverage and additional features for the in-depth breakdown.

Loving my Galaxy Nexus. Such a great device. Just wish Verizon would send out the 4.04 update already.
