I think the Droid screen is made of Gorilla Glass so it's pretty tough to scratch. But still, I wouldn't say a screen protector is stupid. What you lose in screen sensitivity wouldn't be much, at least it wasn't much on my iPhone.

I got a nice case from Verizon because I had dropped my Droid on my tile floor and almsot had a heart attack. Luckily it only scratched the metal casing around my screen. It didn't add much bulk to the phone either.

I think I'm going to pick up a Invisible Shield from Best Buy tomorrow.

Hell I forgot the name of it, got it from Best Buy mobile and it had a lifetime gurantee on it, the guy even put it on my droid for free.

Ok........quick rant if I may, just a heads up for those who don't know already. Don't believe the hype that ORB works for the Droid and you can watch live tv with it.

There are dozens of youtube videos of it. However every video and forum post of every Droid related website leaves out one very important thing.

You need a tv tuner card on your PC in order for it to work and your PC must be on. That is the only way ORB will work on the Droid.

Orb has always worked that way.

Well yeah I know that now, but before I never ever even heard of orb, but I wanted to watch live tv on my droid so I just typed it into youtube and google and it kept showing videos of it being done with orb.

I thought orb was like mobi tv where you didn't had to buy extra hardware to get it to work.

As for everybody else, I encourage you to get an app called: SystemPanel

Think of it as a task killer, but also a control panel that tells you everything about the Droid. Very useful application. Helps you figure out if a certain app is the one discharging your battery faster than others. As well as showing you how much memory you have, sd card space, etc.

Also for those that think their battery could go longer than it should, try JuiceDefender

Kind of hard to explain, but read up on it and it will help you understand it better.

And last, for those that don't want to use Live Wallpapers because of the extra battery drain, try out WallSwitch.

Point it to a Wallpaper gallery on your SD Card, set how often you want it to switch wallpapers, and you're set. It won't be as cool as a Live Wallpaper, but at least you won't have to keep looking at the old wallpaper everytime you turn on the phone.

Guys, if you're looking for a cheap docking station for your Droid, I would suggest you check out http://www.ezestand.com/

I am no way affiliated with them, so please don't think this is my way of advertising. Simply put, I wasn't planning on buying one, but after searching through one of the Droid forums, I found this stand. I was a little skeptical as it was just a stand for your droid, not really a charging station, but I figured for $13, I could give it a shot.

Been looking for a place to put my Droid at home, as well as my office, so it's just not lying there on a table (accidental spills happen often with me) or on the bed. So I gave it a shot. Ordered it sometime last week, and just received it today.

I love it. Nothing too fancy, just a plastic that is molded perfectly well to hold the Droid. I also have the Seido Innocase, and it holds it really well, almost too perfect as I could tell it doesn't move around easily.

I contemplated getting a docking station, but since they're all $30 or more, I thought it was a waste of money. For $13, I think this is the best accessory I've spent on my Droid so far.

Let me know if you guys want pics. If you search Youtube, they have videos of it as well as on their site.

Anybody here use the car dock? I'd like to get a case for my droid but from what I've seen I'd have to take it off to put it in the car dock.

I have the car dock, I use it quite often. I also don't use a case though, so it's much easier for me to just plop it in the car dock.

When you dock it, does the it automatically launch the Car Home app? If so, that would be sweet.

Really? That's awesome! I might have to ditch the GPS and get the car dock. The voice search is so good on there, seems it'd be easier to get points of interest/make calls off of the Droid/Nexus than a standalone GPS unit.

Google is slowly starting to take control of my life! LOL

If you do make sure you get the official Motorola car dock, it has the special magnet in it that allows the car dock app to come up automatically.

Actually it's just a regular old magnet. The Droid has a magnet inside, that when it's near another magnet it will activate the Car Dock.

If you have a dock at home, that doesn't have a magnet, just simply put a regular magnet where it will touch the middle of your Droid, and it should work.

Check youtube for videos.

I'll see if I can find any of the videos that showed homemade docks.

There is an App called DockRunner (DROID) that will get you to the Multimedia dock mode when you run the App.

Does anyone else have a USB port in their car that allows you to listen to an iPod or another media device through your car stereo?

It seems that if I set my Droid in to mass storage mode and connect to my car stereo, it'll allow me to stream music through my phone but I can only read the files through my headset unit instead of through my actual Droid interface.

Anyway, it seems like when I scroll through all my music files everything seems to be out of order even though everything is tagged properly along with proper track numbers. It's really weird.

I was just wondering if anyone else experienced this and if they had figured out a workaround to let you scan through your music library in proper order.
