Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
So my myTouch 4g skide has a busted screen. My replacement options are the G2 and the Samsung Galaxy Blaze.
Pros of G2- qwerty keypad which I would rather use.
Cons of G2- no front facing camera which is a must since I'm deployed andwould like to video chat with the family.
Pros of Blaze- front facing camera and much faster. Has Android 4.0
Cons- no keyboard
Which one should I pick up?

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
My GS3 whenever I get a phone call lately has been saying "Call from 'persons name' press 1 to accept" I don't remember changing any of the settings to make it do that and I don't know how to turn it back. Ideas?
Nevermind, it was a Google Voice issue.Last edited by Molarmite; 12-01-2012, 04:19 PM.Follow me for live wrestling tweets @molarmiteComment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Apparently. I had the original One X but cracked the screen about six weeks ago. I went into the AT&T store last night to get it replaced and they gave me the Plus. I didn't know it was coming out and new nothing about it to be honest."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Anyone have the Note 2? Wife and I are thinking about getting it. S3 everyone seems to have, so I'd like a breath of fresh air with a different phone.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
Just got the LG Optimus G last night. This phone is amazing! I got it for $99 at Best Buy, with a FREE set of LG Tone HSB 700($70)! Talk about a steal. It's practically a Nexus 4, with a sim card slot and expandable sd storage.Comment

Re: Official Android Discussion Thread
How's the phone compared to.. any other phones you might have had? Hopefully a comparison with an S3 as that is the other choice of phone I was thinking of.
Also, how is the camera? With my 7 month daughter, I love taking many pictures, and my old Droid sometimes doesn't cut it.Comment

Smart Wifi Toggler article
Found out about this free app this weekend. Basically it'll turn Wifi on and off based on cell tower locations (much less battery drain compared to GPS location usage). Seems good to me the few days I've had it, it'll turn wifi on when I'm near home or work and connect to those hotspots.
Like the article mentions, there's probably paid apps that do similar stuff, but a free one is pretty nice.
Also, I found out that if it saves battery life to use Wifi over 4g as well, so now I'll get more battery life out of my phone at work (but I don't have to manually remember to turn wifi on and off every day).Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

Aside from the S-pen, which I find most useful when you are on the phone and need to write something down quickly, not much else different.
Go with what you feel more comfortable handling.
I've heard that camera-wise they are both identical. 8MP in the back and 1.9MP front facing camera. I can tell you that the camera should meet you standards. I do get some blurry pictures if there is quick movement, however, enough settings are there where you can take different types of pictures and what not.
The size will take some getting used to, especially for comfort, however I love my phone now. I am thinking of going with a holster like the good ole days though.Comment
