        Re: Official Android Discussion Thread

Went in to upgrade my phone the other, was set on an iPhone but the salesperson did a damn good job of selling me on the Droid X2...leaning towards it now.

Like the size and feel of it and I have no need for 4G seeing as I won't have it in my area for another year probably...heard both good and bad things (as it usually goes) about the X2...anyone have it?

        Impressions? Pros and cons?

        Thanks.

Why is it only my default email in the Google+ app? Why cant I add a new email, the one that my + profile is on?

the biggest gripe I've heard about the X2 is the screen. Some people love it, others hate it. You can read up about that, but if you like it after seeing it in person, then it's one of the best 3g phones Verizon has.

After losing my rsa keys (flashed a Rom & some how lost 4g) on my EVO. I got my replacement pre loaded with GB 2.3

Kudos to Google on this update. My phone has never been smoother & the battery life has been great.

Down side is the new OTA update can't be rooted once you apply it.

If I keep getting such great performance I think I'll stay stocked until its time for a full upgrade.

For those EVO Owners having problems with the Market version of Netflix, PM for a link to a working 1080p Netflix apk.

It might have been a blessing in disguise because right I'm really enjoying the performance I'm getting from my replacement with the pre-installed GB Update

New Market Place apk. is available @ xda. I downloaded it & the new Market looks really good. You can buy books & movies now as the have their own section.

EDIT: Here's a screenshot & link to a downloadable apk.

If you're on Android 2.2 or above get ready for an update to your Android Market experience. Google has just informed us that a new version of the app is incoming, a version that will add tabs for easy access to Google Books and Movies. Starting with the more visual purchases, at $1.99 you'll be able to start watching movies almost instantly, and apparently see whether Chevy Chase will ever take his family on a successful vacation. But, if offline access is key, you'll also be able to download the misadventures of the Griswold family for later viewing. Books is now integrated too, saving you the hassle of having to launch the books app, which required you to then open the browser to actually buy any digital tomes. Overall the new design looks cleaner, finger-friendlier, and the addition of Editor's Choice apps should make it easier than ever to get to the good stuff. The update will be rolling out gradually over the next several weeks and, once you've been admitted to the club, you'll be able to download the Videos app as well. Check out the video preview after the break. Update: Wesley wrote in to let us know that you can download this APK yourself if you're feeling brave -- and impatient.

Lots of salespeople have agendas lately. If you were set on an iPhone, why would he steer you away from it or vice versa? He doesn't get any more of a commission. I"ve seen other guys try to steer people away from Android too.

I used the Beta when I first got the 3D and didn't care for it, but I'll give it another shot because I'm still having trouble typing on this thing.
