Gamefly
Wasn't sure where to post this topic but I was wondering if anyone uses gamefly? I am interested in getting a membership but just wanted to get some feedback from some people. Thanks for any help!Tags: None -
Re: Gamefly
It's a little pricey but it fits my gaming style. It's nice to be able to just send games back after I get bored with them or beat them. I've had 5 games so far in the 2-3 months or so that I've been a member. So essentially paid ~ $75 to rent them instead of the $300 it would have cost me to buy them.
Newer games can be tough to get but if you get the membership where you can have 2 games out, just get 1 game and use your other slot to wait for the new games if you really want it. -
Re: Gamefly
I'm a fan. Generally, I hang onto games for a while... then I send them back (usually on a Monday) and by Friday, I probably have a new game.Rose City 'Til I Die

Re: Gamefly
I hated it. I live literally a 45 minute drive from a shipping center and it would take me -- no lie -- over a week to get another game in the mail upon sending in. I could rarely get games I wanted, new games seemed to never be in stock, for days I'd have no action in my return/ship queues, etc. I went back twice to Gamefly and both times I was so completely disappointed that I will never go back.
If you own multiple systems I could see this being a pretty good deal but for me only owning a 360 & PS2 it didn't seem to do much for me at all.Comment

Re: Gamefly
Im on my 3rd stint with them and I dont really have any major complaints. For some reason its taking 3 days for games to get from Portland to Los Angeles when it used to only take 2 days but it makes far more sense to rent all these games I want to play instead of trying to gather the funds to buy them. Furthermore, Im not a big online gamer when it comes to shooters so for me those games are worthless once I beat them so this makes even more sense for me.Comment

Re: Gamefly
Thanks everyone for the input. I am not much of a online person when it comes to games. I also mostly play sports games.Comment

Re: Gamefly
I found that once I started using GameFly, I started trying new things in gaming. It might be useful to you to start with a genre you haven't tried, and give it a shot, that is, if you're going with GF or equivalent.Rose City 'Til I Die

Re: Gamefly
I would always put it on my queue far in advance and make sure whatever game I had out was in by the Saturday before. I got Just Cause 2 the day it came out, but that was after having 5 other games on my queue not ship for 5 days. Good luck on Splinter Cell coming.
I ended up canceling after a month, I initially signed up just to play GoW 3 so I got my $9.99 worthComment

Re: Gamefly
for me it pays for itself when it saves me from buying 4ish games a year, and then I get to try some other games I wouldn't otherwise try.
It is a slow service, slower than netflix, so wouldn't use it if I wanted games fast, but right now I have Splinter Cell and GOW3 to play and I would have purchased those otherwise...saves me cash.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
