"No Signal" when using PS3 on HDTV

Hi. I imagine you are all sick of HDTV questions. Please know that before you read my situation and questions that I absolutely searched the Entertainment & Technology forum to no avail.

I just got an HDTV, and I took the HDMI cable, put it in the back of the PS3, and then put it in my HDMI1 slot located in the back of my TV.

I then took my AV cables, you know, the old school ones that are Red, Yellow, and White, and then ran those from my PS3 to the back of the TV in all of the varying slotes available, trying to figure out which slots on the back of the TV they should go in.

On the remote, I hit the AV button, heck, I was hitting the HDMI button too, to make sure it stayed on HDMI1.

After finding that none of this was working, and that "NO SIGNAL!" was displaying on the TV, I decided to blow an hour or so searching the forums and reading.

I searched under "yellow cable", and then I searched under "NO SIGNAL", & then took what little bit I learned and went back to the PS3 and yanked out the red and yellow cable from the back of the tv so that now there was no red, yellow or white cable back there - just the HDMI cable is hooked up. I turned the TV on and still got NO SIGNAL.

Can someone direct me better? If not, I'm pretty much am going to be stuck with another useless showing of Carrie Underwood's Christmas Concert in HD and me totally be emasculated if I have to sit through that again. I'm a man, darn it, and a man's gotta play his vee-oh-gameths...:O).

    Thanks in advance.

Can you really link to a political party in your signature? Doesn't feel right.

That's completely off topic, I know, but I found it odd.

have to reset your PS3. That happened to me. Just hold down the power button for like 10 seconds or so. That fixed it for me.

It took me forever to figure it out. I thought the ps3 was broken and i was raging until i did some internet research about it.

Thank you so much, this worked so well, but even better, so easily.

Uncle Mo, if you are using a HDMI Cable from your PS3 to your TV, then the RED-YELLOW-WHITE Cables are non-void & don't need to used @ all

Pretty much. Throw those composite cables away. LOL

You're HDMI or component from here on out.

Its one of those whacked out political parties. These far fringe parties are pro-censorship which means they hate Porno( and would probably ban it) and they hate Video Games. If you enjoy your video games, you should support elected officials who are anti-censorship.
