    ps3 overheating question

Say your fan comes on when using the PS3, is that the signal to turn it off, or move it to a cooler position? What should I do?

I know, noob question, but I need to know how to maintain the device and use it properly from people that know better.

I always guessed that it was just cooling down like it had a variable speed fan.

I assume you have one. Do you just continue to use it with no problems?
