Well, the show was renewed earlier this month through season 28, and the ratings are still good, so unless people stop watching with the new replacement voice actor(s), I think the show will still be on for awhile.

Even if people slowly stop watching, what other replacements could FOX even have? Unless they slowly start to phase out cartoons or worse, add more Seth MacFarlane stuff.

Supposedly talks are still going on with Shearer. If that's so, I wouldn't be surprised if this stuff was intentionally leaked somewhere just so that they could see the overall reaction to the potential news, which will give him an even bigger bargaining chip in negotiations.

I will spoiler tag this info but man, The Simpsons writers are grasping at straws to stay relevant

The first I'm honestly surprised hasn't happened yet, considering that the Treehouse of Horror episodes are their little sandbox for one-off ideas.

The second spoiler...eh. They've done stories along those lines before. Not a big deal to me unless it extends over a couple episodes or something - but that's not how cartoons usually work.

So...nothing to worry about, Harry Shearer re-signed.

Just some news about Sundays episode. It'll be a documentary style one on the baseball episode they did 25 years ago! Guys like Canseco will be in it so that'll be interesting. The Darryl Strawberry part was my favorite part from that episode.

                              Simpsons movie 2?

The Simpsons Movie 2 has been talked about for over a decade, and the sequel could be on the way, depending on the Disney and Fox deal.
