Anyone have a 52 inch sony v5100? having audio problems with the hdmi

Just thought I'd ask fellow op guys. I got a sony 52 inch 52V5100 in a package that had a ps3. Everything was great until the audio kept popping or kind of skipping as a disc would. It happened on both the ps3 and dtv dvr. I went through two sony tv's, and thought it was the tv. So I got a samsung 60hz tv, and as soon as I got it home i heard the skipping on the blu ray disc. It sounds like its skipping but the picture is fine, with the audio hiccups. I was using cheap hdmi cable and thought that was it. So I got 2 monster m1000's, and I still hear it. I read some reviews about this tv having hdmi issues, and I am also about to got get the samsung ln52b630 which is a 120 hz tv. The next step is switching out my plugs in the wall and getting a monster power surge protector. I also have a 67 inch samsung in another room that has never game me one problem, it is a dlp and a couple years old, is it because the sony's a 120hz lcd, or are they just a bad tv. If this don't work I don't know what the heck to do. Any help or ideas would be great. thanks

Have that same sony. And yes it pops. and some time the sound does weird things. That is why I am getting a sound bar. I also think it is when my signal goes for 1080i to 720p and 480i. Some people have a problems with it and some don't. But I think it is have to do with my dirctv box. So I am hoping the sound bar solves that problem.

They will probably mail you a USB stick with the update on it. You stick the stick into the USB Drive of the TV & the TV should prompt you to update. Not hard @ all

I use that soundbar in a bedroom setup, and can vouch for it's quality.
Surprisingly good sound and it is one of the few to have DD 5.1 and use HDMI in its' price range.

Or just download it from the site itself and extract to a usb memory stick.
Make sure the stick is formatted to FAT 32 first.

Even when using the sound bar you still have to use and hdmi don't you. Or do you just use an optical output. I have an onkyo receiver for my other tv but may resort to an alternate audio source If I have to. To get this straight a sound bar is like using a receiver woith alternate speakers?
