Low light is just awful, though. I need to show you examples of how my family room is nearly in an unrecordable condition because of it. It's really too bad though, because it's a great camera otherwise.
All regular cameras have low light issues though...if that's the complaint that's not too bad

Thanks, mgoblue. That makes me feel more confident about this camera's strong abilities.

Here's a little video for you guys showing off the macro mode, 1080p and 30 FPS:

I get my external mic on Friday, and hope to post a video review then.

That looks really good. I haven't messed with the macro too much but I'll be out and about after i get unpacked from my move. What mic did you get btw?

Re: HD digital camcorder - 30 FPS vs. 60 FPS

Just picked up a zi8 myself.

Target had them on sale at $150 this week, but the only ones they had left today was Red, and I really wanted black. I called my best buy, they said they had them in stock, and asked them to hold one for me.

I stopped by Target on my way to best buy and asked Customer Service for a weekly ad. Took the ad to best buy and they price matched without any problems.

With the Christmas money I had left over this camera and an 8gb memory card ended up costing me $30.

              Awesome!

I'm pretty much all set, I have the external mic and everything.

Here's the only video up I have on YouTube with the mic, but it's not much to go off of. I was just passing by some softball games at the sports complex I was at on the way exiting, but I'm glad I didn't because I watched this one girl blast a home run 250 feet (in softball, especially for 16 year old's, that is as far as it gets). I didn't really get the flight of the ball unfortunately, but just watching it off the bat is enough. Haha you hear my late reaction at the end of the video:

haha nice. I just ordered that mic you got. Nice stuff, you could really hear the crowd well and the sound from the hit was good. whoa.
