So how is the Dynex ? I seen it before but didn't know anybody with it. Worth buying you say ?
Love my Dynex. I use a $10 RCA HDTV rabbit-ear antenna that I got at Best Buy and the picture is great. Been watching the NFL playoffs and this is how it's supposed to look. I have no complaints, especially for the price!

My whole network is now 5.0 wireless-n capable. Netgear 3300 Dual-band 5.0 router. I've got Dual-band 5.0 USB wireless-n adapters on both PC's, a Dual band PCMCIA 5.0 card for the wife's dinosaur of a laptop and a Dual-band Linksys gaming adapter for the Xbox, which of course decided to croak yesterday. I'm in the middle of seeing if MS is full of junk about covering it or not. I was told last night it was covered, then an hour later not covered. This morning it's covered again. Huh? So I'm waiting for a label and gonna see if it is or not. But in the meantime, I'm gonna buy an Arcade and try and get this one fixed for free. If not free, send it back and it'll become a science project....

P.S. I just hate that I had to sell some of the gear. Gonna be laid off until mid-April from DMAX and can't afford to spend a bunch of moola. But I've made enough today to get back in the game. Hauppage HD-PVR went for 140, My Book 500gb went for 60, and my old router (Belkin Wireless-n single band) went for 40. I'm good. I'll be back in the game next week.....

Well, added PS3 to the fold. Gonna be on the Road to the Show soon! Oh well, addition by subtraction is OK in this case!

I don't get it, you sold that stuff to get money because you're going to be laid off, yet you buy a PS3? Makes little sense to me.

No, I sold it so I could get back up and running without spending any new money. Can't afford to spend new money, but I can turn stuff I already had into something else. I wasn't liquidating to pay bills, got that covered. Just didn't want to strain the budget with new expenditures that weren't accounted for. Actually it's working out good. I'm going triple console and will be able to play The Show. And, hopefully, after my last conversation with MS, they will be covering the old 360. So, while I hate losing the Hauppage, selling it and a few other toys will end up expanding my gaming options! But with 23's little tip on 360 repair, I'm not even worried so much about getting the 360 up and running again, with or without MS's help! That repair is well within my technical abilites. And there's even enough money within the spare change from the fire sale to cover it! It's more good than bad!

P.S. I only paid 202.50 for the PS3, refurb. I've still got a 103.00 bucks to deal with!

P.S.S. I guess it would make more sense what I just said if I had reiterated the stuff from the other thread. I chose to buy the PS3 with the firesale money after 23 showed me about the 360 repair kit/info and MS saying they might repair my console. Already had the money from prematurely selling my stuff. But it seems to be working out OK, with no new expenditure, just using money I gained to change the setup. And I have to say, I sold everything that I had bought for just about what I paid for it.

            Brian, very cool set-up!!

I too maybe a three console owner soon like yourself. My little ones are really getting into gaming (like their Dad) and I have the capability in the house we'll be finished building in a few weeks to do something very sweet. Well, it's already going to be slick, but I want to maximize it. . Needless to say, I'm pumped about it!

Yeah, I'm sad. Right now I'm sitting back in the recliner watching the MIN-NO game on the Dynex, typing on the wife's laptop, while Joel is playing Nick Jr. games on his PC (to the left of the Dynex setup) and asking if we can play Wii before he goes to bed. I've made a little techie geek! But I'm just hoping the Xbox thing works out. Then I'll be good to go. At some point I'll get me another Hauppage. But for now It'll just be cool to be able to get whatever game I want, regardless of system. Put up some pics when you get everything set up! Just don't have something corny like the Browns on Madden on your big screen!

LOL. I won't put you through that image.

It's fun getting my little ones psyched about the set-up. Along with running around outside (and inside), our boys and I like our games. It's sounds like you have your own techie/gamer on your hands. That's cool. It's a blast to have the same hobbies that you can enjoy together.

I'll definitely post some pics once we get moved in and settled. I'm getting excited since we're less than 2 weeks away.

                  Enjoy your creation Bri!

                          Re: This my newest toy.

Well, I decided to get a bit more serious about my editing capabilities. I had sold my HD-PVR during my Xbox fiasco, and had started to miss it! I'm in the midst of doing some big video work for church and decided to get all my dream stuff in one fell swoop. So here's the latest "toys!"

My PC. (I still have my old quad: It'll be part of the render farm, one PC on each side of the desk. )
                          http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16883147177

My Capture card that I'll be putting in the new PC: http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/ Had to get the PCI-e card. No USB 3.0

And my wife's new laptop that will be the third renderer and my travel companion: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16834101230

Buying a "true" version of Sony Vegas 9.0 on Thursday or Friday. That's the only way I can render on the network...... LOL! My wife can get me an Academic Version for $365.00 off of CDW. All said, around 2400 bones. But I'm finally up to where I want to be tech-wise. Yay!

P.S. Was gonna settle for another Quad for around 800, but for 1000 for an i7 with a good vid card and BluRay player, not a question. I love NewEgg!

P.S.S. Now broke for the next few years! No Kinect for me! LOL!

Got my tracking numbers. Both PC's and my HDMI cables will come tomorrow. Sony Vegas next week. I love my wife being a teacher. They have a bunch of software with academic discounts! Got my Intensity Pro today. This thing is tiny. HDMI in/out and breakout for analog. Gonna hook my PC's together with HDMI and the Xbox through analog. Now gotta go pick up NCAA tomorrow. Been so busy trying to get the computer stuff together I haven't got it yet. Happy Birthday to me!
