Looks like a cool take on the story. Plus, that's a hell of a team as Gladiator was amazing.

        Re: Robin Hood (2010)

Is there anything they're not re-making now?! At some point they'll run out of old stuff, and they'll start re-making things from 2004... And when that's done they'll have to re-create things that haven't been created yet...So maybe I'm wrong and creativity will return at some point...
I'm not saying that all the re-makes are bad, I'm just saying that it seems like there's a lack of creativity the past few years, so they re-make all the classics and create "next-gen" versions to it.

        But that's me...

The story of Robin Hood has been "remade" so many times, how is this "remake" a problem? Supposedly there's a twist to this story.

Well, let's face it. Kevin Costner does not make a good Robin Hood. And for that matter I could have done without Morgan Freeman in the movie as well. As far as I'm concerned I'm already ready for another movie where I thought Costner didn't fill the shoes: The Untouchables.

I usually skip most re-makes (unless it's something that's simply amazing) and watch the original, or at least the one that was first. The point is that somewhere in 2007 or 2008 started an era of remakes, just try to count how many re-makes were created the past 3 years, and how many more are scheduled for the next year. I didn't say re-makes haven't been done before, I'm just saying that the past 2-3 years era is full of re-makes like never before.

You can tell this from a 90 sec trailer? Skills.

I would have preferred the original idea that Ridley Scott was going to do where Robin Hood was the villain and the Sheriff of Nottingham the hero but I'm still interested to see how this one turns out.

Went and saw this last night and thought it was solid. A bit drawn out, but still entertaining. Definately NOT complete garbage!

My wife and I LOVED it! We're gonna go back for a 2nd viewing. To each their own, I suppose, but we thought it was outstanding and enjoyed the entertainment aspect of it. Story is a little "long" but I thought was necessary to the storyline...

Haven't seen the movie yet but when I heard they had adopted the script away from the Sheriff as hero concept...I sort of lost interest.

That would have made for a much fresher vision of this classic tale.

If you're looking for some what brain dead I want to get away from the world and work type of entertaining video, this is not for you. This was more like an I'm ready for a mega millions History channel type version of Robin Hood. It was too drawn out and disconnected for me.

I agree. I bought this on Blu-ray this week and the film was just dragged out more than it should have been. I think Scott is going for a Batman Begins like trilogy here with Robin Hood as I was reading on other forums. I like Robin Hood films of the past, but this one just didn't appeal to me due to it being a bit longer than it should have been.
