Re: FOX Could Be Dropped on Time Warner Jan. 1
If this happens, I'm done with cable. This has nothing to do with any bias towards/away from cable or satellite but it seems like TWC has been doing alot of this b.s. in the last few years. Once with NBC, then Viacom (VH1, MTV, etc) and now FOX? Cable bills continue to go up yet programming & channel/show lineups are weaker than ever and these major corporations expect us to lend a sympathetic ear towards them? My cable bill is as expensive as my electricity, gas & utility bills combined, that just ain't worth it! -

If they "Roll Over," they'll increase our rates. If they "Get Tough," they'll take Fox off our cable until it inevitably returns with a slightly lower negotiated price hike. So we lose either way.Comment

our local cable (BrightHouse Networks - Tampa, FL) is also affected by this. Fortunately, my wife and I went with DirecTv when we bought our house 2 years ago, so we're fine. But in reading the local message boards, it looks like people are considering the switch to Verizon Fios (which just started this way a little over a year or so ago).
one of the funny things is how ignorant people are: the "I hate Fox News" rants - well, this has NOTHING to do with Fox News, only the Fox Channels (they are totally separate). so just in case someone here wanted to start their political rant - don't bother with it because it's irrelevant...STEELERS INDIANS CELTICS

Re: FOX Could Be Dropped on Time Warner Jan. 1
This was one of the reasons I was glad my move to the South didn't work out. Signed up with TWC initially, but the way they did business left the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. My current cable company, RCN, gets a lot of flack, but I've found that I've been able to work with them. For example, we recently changed to "each TV must have a digital box" system. I bitched a bit about having to pay the additional $3/mth when I wasn't asking for this change, and the guy at the converter box warehouse, had someone knock $3 off my HD box to compensate! Plus, they recently added a bunch of HD channnels (I think we're around 60 now) and even my mom, who has the basic package at her condo, got a bump up in the number of channels. Not sure if RCN is an option in your area, but consider them.Comment

Something very similar happened last year around this time. Nothing came of it. I assume they'll get this worked out.Comment

That would suck if it happened (I have TWC), but I'm sure they'll work something out. TWC would have a real tough time trying to explain to their customers why they can't get FOX anymore.Ryan Spencer

I wouldn't mind if they dropped Fox News. Just keep the other Fox stations.I have more respect for a man who let's me know where he stands, even if he's wrong. Than the one who comes up like an angel and is nothing but a devil. - Malcolm XComment

It'll get epic though when the now Comcast owned NBC networks come up for renewal.Comment
