not sure what router to look for
Hi, I need a router to beam my high speed internet access from one room to another and I am not sure what I need to look for.
To help you help me, should I list what tv I have, what console, who is my service provider, etc? Or does none of that matter?Tags: None -
Re: not sure what router to look for
Can you explain a tiny very important. If I am correct, my PS3 does not have a wireless router. I know it can detect the internet, but I need to buy something (a router?) to beam that connection for the PS3 to detect - or so I understand it this way. You're saying, I don't need an N router, get a G router, correct?Comment

Re: not sure what router to look for
I'd recommend Linksys. They are good range-wise and very reliable, plus the setup is not difficult.Streaming PC & PS5 games, join me most nights after 6:00pm ET on TwitchTV https://www.twitch.tv/shaunh20

N routers have more range and speed that a G router from what I understand..Comment

Agree, my Linksys is terrific and I find a G router more than sufficient in range and speed for a PS3 and laptops. Very stable for online gaming.Comment

Re: not sure what router to look for
Wireless N isn't going to give you any speed improvements unless you're connecting to it with a wireless N card. If you want to "future proof" yourself then get an N router, but if you're not planning on upgrading anytime soon, go with G.Comment
