    netflix's blu ray content?

Before I blow my cash and join, um, how's the blu ray content? I want to be able to stream movies and tv shows in high def. Can I have your take? I imagine that I'll be streaming via PS3, or via a router from my PC.

Can't stream in HD as far as I know.

Netflix does stream in HD. Of course, not everything is available for instant streaming and not every thing that is available is streamed in HD. You can brosw specifically for movies and shows in HD in the Instant Streaming category.

Wouldn't count on anything close to blu ray video quality when streaming via netflix. it largely depends on your internet bandwidth.

If you plan to rent Blu-Rays, Netflix charges an extra $2 a month for that service, just so you know. I pay it.

I watched Wall-E streamed through my PS3 and the quality was great.

This thread is making me not want to sign up then. I've thought about it, and, the options are to use netflix for 8.99 plus the 2 dollar fee (10.99 a month), OR, just rent a la cart via the local blockbuster a blu ray disc when I want.

Unless you only rent one blu ray a month, then it's cheaper to have netflix. with netflix you'd probably get 10-12 rentals a month considering the shipping time. and you get to stream content. a blu ray rental is probably $5 plus tax
