    Simpsons or Family Guy

Which one do you like more?

I know simpsons is like a classic, some people say both fell off but they both have funny moments.

    Which series you like more?

Family Guy and it's not even close for me. I grew up on The Simpsons (I was 9 years old when it debuted over 20 years ago) and the first 6-7 seasons of that show were great but I just cannot get into it anymore. The pop culture references and flashback sequences in Family Guy are totally awesome though.

I enjoy both a lot, but for sure The Simpsons. Family Guy is just a little more random and a lot of their jokes have absolutely nothing to do with the story line. The Simpsons flows better and some of its humor is a little more subtle and biting.

EDIT: I am comparing both shows in their prime, not today.

Early Simpsons were great. Family Guy is my personal favorite now though. Almost every episode it seems, is funny, offensive, and wrong on so many levels. That's my kind of entertainment.

          Re: Simpsons or Family Guy

I just never liked The Simpsons, so it's Family Guy by default.

Though, I wish they got back into the Season 2/Season 3 humor. Even Season 4 was tolerable as a moderate version of what it is now and took some good elements from Season 3, but now they just do weird things all of the time, especially long-winded things, where I just don't like it as much. But I still watch it very often, and still love it. Now the next thing they need to do is start drawing and broadcasting episodes in 16:9 720p.

Same thing happened to Spongebob, but that's saved for another discussion.

I've really become a big family guy fan in the last year. It's much funnier than the simpsons. The humor is more my style than the simpsons. Plus, it ruined the simpsons for me knowing the voice of bart is done by a woman.

Family Guy. I liked Family Guy and Futurama better than the Simpsons when they debuted and back then I was still pretty big on The Simpsons. I like American Dad and Cleveland show better too.

                Right now, Family Guy.

All together, The Simpsons and its not even close. The Simpsons had about a 7 year Run where every episode was excellent.

If The Simpsons had ended in 2000 or so, I would be proud to call it the best comedy on television ever. It was consistently outstanding over a long run. It's so bad now that I won't voluntarily say that I was ever a fan of the show. Someone who is only familiar with the current state of the show might think I'm ********.

                    Same thing with Star Wars.

I like Family Guy because the jokes are not predictable which is more like how The Simpsons used to be.

Both shows in their prime? Simpsons for me and It's a landslide.

I will say, that every once in a while I'll catch an older Simpsons episode and shake my head at how far they've fallen. That show used to be gold.

                        Re: Simpsons or Family Guy

In their prime it's the Simpsons easily. There's been nothing in the animation field that could touch The Simpsons in its prime because it was subversive, yet still had heart, told great stories, had pretty good pop cultural references without bashing you over the head with it and finally the combination of great scripts and writing made it great television period.

The only animation work that comes close to the Simpsons in that way would be the WB shorts in their heyday.

                            The correct answer is Futurama.

But i'd have to say Family Guy by a mile. Had the Simpsons stopped earlier, i'd give it to The Simpsons.
