When you pause the on demand you don't get the huge pause button still on the screen. Good for the porn. That alone puts them above Comcast.

      Re: Verizon Fios

I was just gonna make a thread about this, but thanks to that new search function after entering the thread title I found this was the latest one.

My parents have been thinking about switching from Comcast to Verizon triple play. The Xfinity TV alone costs just as much as the Triple Play does from Verizon. It's a solid $50/month savings which sounds great, but I've been just researching some info about FIOS. It seems as if they're making fraudulent bills to a whole ton of people. Tons of complaints towards Fios and their customer service/billing department. Also, there's that recent lawsuit with their Video On Demand which I believe is gonna have to be shut down.

I was just wondering for all you guys with Fios out there, did you have any problems with their service or how they handled any of your problems?

How can a company like Verizon not safeguard against something like this if it's true? With competition like it is and probably only going to get more fierce as more and more cut their TV cable, they are going to really need to be careful. My brother has FIOS and absolutely loves it. I think they're ready to get their claws in this area and can't wait to bring their name up to my current provider. My 15/2 internet speed is $50/month as is, which I thought was the advertised price for 25/2 speed, but apparently it's MY fault to not assume that this is the rate for new customers, even though it doesn't say a damn thing about that on the web page. Bastards.

Seems like a pretty crappy service. Whatever my Uncle's house (dog-sitting right now) package is, I'm assuming the lowest tier, doesnt have ESPNews, MLBN, NFLN, NBATV, or WGN.

Super weak, if I may say so.

Yup.. it's 13 more dollars for the sports package on top of the tv plan. I don't know though, I'm reading mixed reviews on fios and I'm not sure if I'm willing to go through all that crap others apparently have gone through

I love my FiOS. I've had it since the service was first available in the area and at the beginning it was pretty bad. Now I have no complaints. I really like the "FiOS Movie Night" you get two or three new release movies for only $2.99 (In HD) and have them for 48 hours so I usually will order one around 1130 Friday Night and have the whole weekend to watch it.

I just changed my package to the FiOS Ultimate HD (which includes the NFL RedZone for free!) when we moved and I now get 35/35 internet for about $110 a month and when I called to complain that I wasn't getting my 35/35 the first 3 months they refunded me the money I was paying of internet ($50) a month and sent me a new router and had a tech come out and fix the problems. In this area it's comcast, DIrectTV/Dish Network or Verizon. I have no intentions of changing. FiOS has always been really good to me.

                  Re: Verizon Fios

I am living in a studio apartment while I work a temp job in Indiana and FIOS is available so I'm getting it. However I guess they want to get out of the tv business (Frontier-who bought verizons network in a lot of areas) so they priced their TV service with a $500 install fee.

Because of this I'm thinking if getting DirecTV through FIOS instead of the FIOS tv. Has anyone doe this yet? If so, how was it?

I have DirecTV at my house now and love it, just wondering how it might be different through FIOS.
