Possible Villain, MJ Revealed for Amazing Spider-Man 2

Peter Parker has traditionally had two major women in his life: Gwen Stacy and Mary Jane Watson. (No, we're not gonna include Aunt May.) And while she was absent from The Amazing Spider-Man this summer, it looks like the redhead of the group will soon be making her return.

Variety reports that The Descendants' Shailene Woodley is in early talks to play MJ in Amazing Spider-Man 2 for director Marc Webb. The film is about to start casting, and Woodley is said to be Sony's top choice for the role. The first film's Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone will of course be returning as Peter Parker and Gwen Stacy.

Character breakdowns are floating around Hollywood now, and they reportedly reveal that Electro is one of the villains "the filmmakers are considering" for the film. Additionally, an unspecified villain and Harry Osborn are also said to be in the cast.

Production starts early next year. The trade paper claims that means the filmmakers still have time to settle on which villain will show up, so I guess the basics of the script are still being hashed out? In any event, there was a bit of Electro-like lightning in the post-credits sequence of the first film, wasn't there?

They better get the correct actress this time and not someone like Kristen Flop. That's one of the last actresses I think of when I hear MJ.

Well this is a picture of the girl they're considering for MJ (for those that didn't click the link):

She looks good. Not exactly what I expect for Mary-Jane, but for this version of Spider-Man I think she fits.

Yet everyone is pissed about Ben Kingsley playing Mandarin in Iron Man 3.

Who the hell is pusses about Kingsley being Mandarin? Didn't realize people wouldn't be excited about that.

Foxx is a good actor. I won't be mad about it.

Yeah, I haven't really seen/heard anybody complaining about Ben Kingsley being Mandarin.

For what it's worth, Kingsley wasn't my first choice. Personally I thought maybe someone like Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (Shang Tsung Mortal Kombat) makes for one bad@ss Mandarin or Ian Anthony Dale from the Event and the new Mortal Kombat Legacy webisodes.

There's a large difference between him not being your first choice and being pissed that an incredible, Oscar nominated, actor ended up getting the role.

I can see him not being the first choice, but being pissed that an actor like Kingsley has a big role in a movie that needs a serious role turned in by a villain is ridiculous.

So the Blu-Ray/DVD finally showed us what that big deleted scene was that was in all of the trailers and then nowhere to be found in the movie:

Just watched this and I thought it was good. Definitely a million times better than the 3rd one and a step better than the first 2.

I rented from Redbox and damn dvd didn't have the post credits ending. I had to go to Youtube for it.

Should've went with Franco's little bro.

But seriously... That kid was good/creepy in Chronicle, so I can handle it.

Just seen him last night in Lawless and he was pretty good. Should be a solid choice.

I really can't wait for the sequel. Things are shaping up nicely.
