    Firmware Upgrade question: brains required.

Help, I tried to upgrade firmware on my linkys wireless-n router, model number wrt160n, but I'm not sure how to do it. My ultimate goal is to get fast downloads when it comes to PSN, which right now stands for pretty sure not supopsed to be this slow. Can someone help?

I have a Linksys and I didn't even know you can have firmware updates for your router.

If your having problems and all else fails then call the linksys help line.

I originally had slow speeds when I first bought my linksys as I had it hooked up thru my desktop computer and used the drivers that came in the box so I just called thier tech line and they forwarded me to a website of thiers that fixed the problem from thier because apparently the drivers I had weren't sufficient. That could be your problem.

Thank you for the answer. I'll dig into this.

Here's the download page for your router.

Select the correct version for the wrt160n (you can find the version of your router on the serial number sticker).

After you download the firmware, login to your router 192.168.1.1.

Go to the 'Administration' tab, then select 'Firmware Upgrade'. Click the browse button and select the firmware you downloaded.

Yeah that sounds like what I had to do for mine from what I remember so I guess it was technically a firmware upgrade.
