G gards in PS3 + Wireless N routers.

Is it just a "no-no" to have a wireless n router to use with the PS3? I keep getting kicked offline.

Sony suggested to me on the phone that I get a G Router, and that I change my security settings to WEP instead of WPA2 as the settings were too strong for the PS3. So, is a G Router the only way to go for a PS3? Or is there a way to put an N card into the PS3, not that I want to do that one bit.

I use a wireless-N capable router without issue.

Sony's wireless hardware isn't exactly the best in the PS3. It gets the job done, but certainly can be better.

I also use an wireles-N capable router and have very little problems with getting booted from the PSN.

Thank you. Maybe it is model specific. I'll go grab me a fast G router.
unless someone wants to share their model numbers for N routers.

I have a d-link dgl-4500 gaming router. I like it a lot and works well on xbox and ps3 on N. It also has a feature called gamefuel where it detects gaming systems and puts more bandwidth to the system when its on. It has been doing well especially with 6 other computers and gaming systems are on in my house.

I wish ps3 can pick up 5 ghz frequency. I have these Turtle Beach wireless headphones that are on the 2.4 ghz frequency and my router is right behind me so I always get interference in my headphones when i'm playing the ps3 since I have to switch the frequency when I play it.
