Turn volume up to 11 before playing.

I saw Tommy when I was 9. I still remember Ann Margaret rolling around in Baked Beans and Suds. Tina Turner as the Acid Queen was a pretty powerful image, as well. I was just reading about the tragedy down the road in Cinti. Around here that's still comes up whenever the Who is mentioned. I have two friends who were actually there. I love the music, but can't not think about the local tragic connection. Sunday will be interesting.....

That worst thing about that concert in Cincinnati was the fact that it was post-Keith Moon which made it not worth the trouble IMO.

My favorite Who song is Behind Blue Eyes. This one has Kenny Jones on drums.

Towny, Daltry , Moon and Entwistle were all very good musicians. Towny has some good solo projects as well.

This next one is a close second. There is one f-bomb in the middle of the song, FYI.

What did you guys think of the half-time show? I thought it was good, better than the Rolling Stones a couple years ago.

It's a shame their sb show was sub par. Just gives even more of an excuse for all the younger people to not want to get into them and other great 60's/70's bands.

I thought it wasn't very good because the music wasn't very clear (guitars cutting out, vocals at times ,etc), visually it was pretty dull, they all didn't age well which made them look like total non rockers (Some looked straight out of Mordor), and the mesh of all their popular songs didn't really work as much as the idea of it should have.

Yeah, I noticed some sound problems as well. There was a point when Townsend did the Windmill and his guitar cut out, ha. For some reason the songs they picked didn't really translate that good into a medley I thought. And its expected for them to look old, they've been rockin since the 60s. The Stones looked like they just got up out of a grave. Despite all the problems, it was enjoyable. Not quite as enjoyable as Prince's set, though.

Agreed, but there is the sort of rockstar badass old that the Stones have (which in some bizarre capacity maintains some sort of credibility to the rock songs allowing them to pull it off) and then the geriatric look which we saw tonight. Agreed on the medley. I would have preferred the full version of 3 or 4 songs, sort of like what McCartney did.

The Stones didn't look badass - they looked sad. Grandpa Jagger struttin around - looked awkward, like he was gonna throw his hip out - not to mention how out of breath he was during that set. I thought The Who looked good for their age. Watching those KISS commercials made me realize exactly how old they must be and how sad it would be to watch them at halftime, haha.

I'm hoping next year they can break away from this old-rock star/band thing they've had going.

I liked it overall. I thought the special effects were actually really good. I agree about the medley being kinda hodgepodge. But my big thing was that both Pete and Roger's vocals were kinda weak and pitchy. That's where they really showed their age to me. But it was pretty good, in my book. Not paid concert quality, but good halftime fare....
