I don't know if their vocals were weak and pitchy because of the lame sound problems or because of them, though. I noticed that there were times when they were off or got out of breath a little bit, but I think the big problem with their set was technical problems.

The Stones didn't look badass - they looked sad. Grandpa Jagger struttin around - looked awkward, like he was gonna throw his hip out - not to mention how out of breath he was during that set. I thought The Who looked good for their age. Watching those KISS commercials made me realize exactly how old they must be and how sad it would be to watch them at halftime, haha.
I'm hoping next year they can break away from this old-rock star/band thing they've had going.Comment

I wouldn't mind Stevie Wonder with an ensemble. I think the right songs would make for an amazing medley.
If they do go "younger", I think Pearl Jam would rock. I can't think of a lot of bands at the moment, since a lot of my favorites don't have the large fan base to warrant a Super Bowl halftime show.

Re: "The Who" - what a band!
At the Haiti benefit Wonder put me to sleep. Plus, it alway is seems like they throw some chick out there with him almost like they don't think he can hold it on his own. But, at least if some young pop star flashed him he would keep playing. I would say Crosby Stills and Nash but they have aged (look and sound) just as bad as anyone else. Maybe Ac Dc or Metallica?Comment

I thought it was great, definitely one of the best Halftime shows.
AC/DC would be awesome next year.NBA: New York Knicks
NCAA: Duke
MLB: New York Yankees

Re: "The Who" - what a band!
I was thinking Metallica tonight, too since I was trying to think of bands from the 80s onward and they were the first to come to mind. Depending on the songs, they would be good. Talking Heads came to mind too (and I think they would put on a sweet show) since they have a lot of hits people don't realize that they actually know them.
LOL...back to The Who. Probably gonna take my Who cds to work tomorrow. Who Sell Out, Tommy, and Who's Next? I think so.

Re: "The Who" - what a band!
There were all kinds of audio problems tonight. The opening team intro movies had audio that was really hit and miss, you had guys talking and no sound. It was like the TV audio feed wasn't there. It seemed like you could hear the audio in the stadium, but not directly to the TV feed, just ambient audio. Queen Latifa and Carrie Underwood had some issues, as well. Kinda weird.Note to Tiburon Marketing:

Re: "The Who" - what a band!
Outside of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, the half time shows have been really not good.
The Who probably met my expectations, better than the Stones but not good at all. Didn't age well. I still love their music, I just don't want them to sing it anymore.
I agree with what someone else said, AC/DC or Metallica next year would be sweet. Unfortunately, they'll probably go Neil Diamond or something.Too Old To Game Club

I have a confession, I actually love Barry Manilow, too. So they could do old, new , soft or hard. I can pretty much enjoy anything, save metal or hard rap. My favorite as of late was between Prince or Sir Paul. Wasn't Lenny Kravitz in there too?Note to Tiburon Marketing:

I thought The Who were terrible tonight at least now I know why.
As for next year I bet they go for a softer sound so I expect someone like Rod Stewart.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I thought the who were great tonight. Roger still has his pipes and Peter was working the crowd. I guess we just see it different.Comment
