    Last Night Time Shuttle Launch

Anyone in the east coast staying up late or waking up early to watch this?

At 4:39 A.M [Sunday]. early tomorrow morning NASA will launch the Endeavor space shuttle, and it will be the last time it does so at night.

On its way up to the International Space Station, the shuttle will fly parallel to America's eastern seaboard and the shuttle's rockets will thus be visible to a surprisingly huge area, weather permitting.

And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

Big thank you for the reminder. I completely forgot about it and would have been mad at myself if I had missed it. Not that I'll be able to go outside and watch it, but I always enjoy watching the launches.

I won't wait up. My windows face east and there are buildings all over the place. Chances of me seeing the light from the shuttle are minimal.

I'd like to check out the video, though. Wish this was a bit later than 4:30 in the morning.

we live just north of tampa - i'll be up trying to get some pictures. it's the coolest thing to watch. i can't recall how many i've watched from our front yard, but it never gets old. we can hear it and at night the trail of fire behind the rockets is so cool...

I've attached a picture from a launch that i took not long ago...

Dang weather. Oh well. Hopefully they get to launch tomorrow and it doesn't get pushed back again.

That's the second push back, right? Ok, so they'll try again Monday. Still won't be able to see it live.

And that's a really cool picture mkharsh. If you get one from Monday, please post it.

Looks like they're going to give it another try Monday morning. 4:14am eastern is the scheduled launch time. Seems like weather might cause them to push it back again, but hopefully the clouds will dissipate in time.

If its pushed back again, pretty soon I'm gonna hallucinate my own bright unicorn lights in the sky. This will make yet another attempt for me to spend my entire morning like a farmer. I am exhausted.

Woke up and waited for 30 minutes outside in the freezing cold for this thing and didn't see anything. What a dud.
