    Re: 2010 Super Bowl Commercials

This Superbowl ads thing is absolutely brilliant.

No only do people who usually complain about commercials watch them, they post them for others to watch, they get millions of views live and then on the Internet for free post-game...

Lucky us! We get to watch companies advertise to us for free!

Really, it's absolutely brilliant how the Superbowl is really just a massive, world-wide advertisement that people enjoy!

I don't know if this one has been mentioned, but the Volkswagen commercial was kind of funny. The slug bug stuff and Stevie Wonder and Tracy Morgan at the end got a chuckle out of me. And I am a huge fan of that Grizzly Bear song.

I liked the Bud Light auto tune commercial and thats about it. Everything else was just weird. There seemed like a lot of half-naked guys during the ads - I'm not sure what was up with that.

Maybe they are trying to balance it out with those absurd GoDaddy ads they were running. Why hasn't that business failed yet?

I have no idea. The only thing I learn from those commercials is that Danica Patrick makes women take clothes off.

Forgot about that one. Really unexpected ending to that commercial.

Google's was far away the best commercial. It wasn't funny, but it was so insanely creative and resourceful.

Ah, now I remember that Google one. I guess I'm not feelin it like everybody else here. The only thing I got out of it was if there was no Google, that guy wouldn't know how to do anything.

So, you can learn to do anything with Google? Sounds like a good marketing/advertising plan to me.

I like how it's so simple yet manages to effecvtively tell a love story.

And think about the budget on that commercial. Whatever the cost of video screen capture software they used (I think that's what they used... I'm pretty sure that's not a simulated screen... it looks pretty much right on with Google) and a few hours of editing is pretty much all they needed.
