All good shows on the video-I wouldn't put " Whats In The Box", "Living Doll", "Masks", and his 1st choice anywhere near the Top Ten.
Surprisingly he left out "To Serve Man".

This is my favorite show of all time but I never bothered to make a thread about it due to all of the younger posters here. My absolute favorite episode is The Silence due to its Hitchcockian nature and the fact that it is one of the few episodes that could really happen due to the lack of a supernatural event. The fact that it is so suspenseful and intriguing without the viewer having to suspend any disbelief is just incredible.

All good shows on the video-I wouldn't put " Whats In The Box", "Living Doll", "Masks", and his 1st choice anywhere near the Top Ten.
Surprisingly he left out "To Serve Man".

"To Serve Man" has become almost a running joke for me and my brother but it's because of our respect for the episode.

It's one of those situations where you've seen the episode so many times, you understand the amount of suspense and drama involved, that you begin to laugh at the subtlety, the lines and the reactions.

"The book...it's, it's a cook book!" Love it. Definitely one of my favorites.

Also, is the narrator in that video the Angry Video Game Nerd?

Listen to a genius sharing his thoughts with young minds. Like I said, I will grab anything with Serling in it. Hearing him speak just teaches me so much about the craft. He could say hello and I'd find the word to have immeasurable meaning.

Love it. What if you went with that story they mentioned where at the end of the yeart the man doesn't want the money because after reading he is now above it, but you added the twist that the club owner has to have the man accept the money in order for him to maintain his club.

In other words, the ownermakes the bet with the talkative guy, the owner says hell give him 1000000 at the end of the year to stay quiet, the people in the club tell him that in order to make sure hes true to his word if he doesnt give the guy the money at the end hell lose his club. At the end the owner tries to give the guy the money, but in the twist the newly profound guy wont accept, and now the owner cant keep his club because he never gave the money to the guy (since he wont accept it), and thus he welched on the bet in terms of its essential criteria. Theres your double irony.

I have actually never seen Silence so it's hard for me to comment on the interview and the ideas floating around the room.

Of the 168 (?) episodes of the Twilight Zone, I'll assume I've seen maybe 100.

There are quite a few that the marathons always seem to run too early/too late for me to catch. Every six months I do happen to catch an episode or two I have never seen. Other times, I'm working or attending a family event and just don't have the chance to watch the rest.

I've thought about buying the collection, but something about having to wait six months makes the marathon that much more enjoyable.

The name of the episode in question is The Silence and there were 156 total episodes in the series: 138 thirty minute segments (seasons 1-3 and season 5) and 18 sixty minute segments (season 4) in all.

The number of actors who were already stars or went on to become stars was amazing.

I love the one with Agnes Morehead (some of you might know her as Samantha's mother Esmirelda in the original Bewitched series) as the country woman being invaded.

Just saw "The Genie", the one about financially down shop owners who acquire a genie bottle and the genie tells them they can have 4 wishes. This is a classic case of be careful what you wish for, and the man first asks for his broken window to be fixed as a way of testing to see if the genie was real. The genie frixes it so the mna wishs for 1000000 dollars. He gets it, gives 150k to people, but soon the IRS takes 900 plus putting hin in debt. He realies he must now wish for somethgn that can have no bad consequences so he asks to be a ruler of a european country that is relevant. Sudden;ly he finds himself as Adolph Hitler in the bunker! He finally wishes for everything to go back to normal, and once hes in his shop he actually falls onto his fixed window, breaking it.
