I got my son a 360 this weekend and we have wireless DSL at our home. is there a way for me to convert a Linksys Router (WRt54g v8) to work as an access point that i can set next to my 360 in the living room so i dont have to purchase another network adapter from microsoft?

That router should support the DD-WRT micro firmware. This would enable the router to act as a wireless client, basically making it a multi-port wireless network card. You'd have to physically connect the Xbox to it though, but that's not a problem if you were going to set it right next to it anyway.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

It depends on the router, and I haven't put DD-WRT on anything for a few years. It could be a complicated mess that takes a bit of reading to do, or it could take 30 seconds.
Which version is it exactly, 8.0, 8.1, or 8.2?
