After putting in a few hours with BF2 I have to say these headphones give you a whole new gaming experience. You can hear which direction bullets are coming from, guys coming up from behind you. Its pretty amazing.

Thanks pjv31 for the feedback. I have the P21's and the hissing sound on some of the games is very annoying and I've swapped them out to no avail. Gonna give these a try if they are in stock

I went to Best Buy tonight and they had the Tritton AX 720's. I ended up picking them up. I hope they are good.

One note on the Trittons. My mic broke on mine and I found out how their support works. Bad news and good news. Bad news is you have to email and call the heck out of them to get them to fix your problem. You REALLY have to be persistent. The good news is they don't give you a hard time about helping you once you get someone on deck to do so.

For my microphone it was out of warranty and I was ready to pay them $10-15 to replace it but they never even asked if it was in warranty or not, they just shipped me a new one. This was though, as I said, after about 10-12 phone calls and several emails.

They are light. I feel like they are pretty well made though.

By far the best headset I have ever used. The sound is very good. Nothing cheap about them imo. Having used the P21, the Tritton AX 720 are "Far Superior" imo. Highly recommend these.

im dumb with this stuff..

but the ax 720 is dolby digital and the px21's will be just stero.. does that really make that big of a difference with headsets?

in my situation, i would just be using these for online play etc.. hockey, baseball etc.. not much for cod etc, but maybe here and there.

so, would it be worth using my 75$ gift card from best buy and pay the extra coin on the ax720, or just use the gift card and only spend like 5 bucks on the px21.. im thinking the px21, but torn after reading this thread lol.

The P21's are not bad as long as you don't have the hissing sound. It only happened on certain games when I used them. I would recommend you wait a couple of days and get the PX21's or even better get the Tritton AX720's. That set is incredible and the price is within reason as far as my budget goes.

If I were in your situation I would go with the 720's. With no feedback available as of yet for the new PX21's I just can't comment.

I personally don't care for Dolby/Stereo I just wanted a good headset to basically do the same as you, chat when playing and a decent sound without the hissing and the 720's more than provide that.

I did forget to mention the P21 at times were incomfortable on my head. The material they used would make my ears itch at times. Could just be me. Hope this helps in your decision

thanks for the response above. i read that the new px21's are made with better material. people had complaints just like you did.

the px21's were back in stock online via gamestop. i used my giftcard and went ahead and picked them up. so, its now a wait and see type deal lol.

i just couldnt spend the extra 60 bucks on the 720's at bestbuy. i had gift card for there as well lol. i traded him games using their website a fewe months back. the reviews of the 720 were solid, but the small complaints were the mic popping and even popping off.

i hope i made the right choice. if not, ill return them.

Hey Fiddy, I did the same thing. Turtle Beach did a hell of a job selling me on those things with all the information and videos I saw after I visited their website. Used my Gamestop gift card to order the PX21's which should be arriving this afternoon.

I called the Gamestop tech support before buying because I was concerned that eventhough the item on the website said PX21, the description was of the P21 as well as the item title when you put it into your shopping cart.

I too am hoping I made the right choice. Being that I game a few nights a week with other OSers and friends occasionally I just couldn't justify spending the extra loot on the Tritton AX 720s. Besides, with this being my first headset I won't know what I'm missing anyway, lol. If they work out great I'll just drop the extra 60 bucks difference into the "game fund" to pick up something down the line. Hope we both end up happy with the purchase!

i called just like you did, to make sure.

overall, im very impressed.. i ordered a 15 foot usb extender for 4 bucks on monoprice.com to add to the 16 feet you get with the px21. reason, so i can hide the wires behind the couch and behind the entertainment center. i have a lil one and dont need to have cords along the floor.

i had one issue, when i clipped the volume piece to my shorts the clip snapped off. it looked like the small black piece to hold that in place was missing on the right side. by me clipping it the other side went. terrible lol.

gamestop emailed me a label to ship back to them. takes 3 days to get to them and then they will overnight me a new set. im debating not doing this, bc i think turtle beach is sending me a new one overnight. if so, ill go the turtle beach route.

sound was awesome, so much better than what i have been used to with headsets. now, the old lady doesnt have to hear the tv late at night anymore.
