Re: TRON: Legacy
I never played Tron growing up, never saw the original, but went to see this in IMAX 3D today. I wasn't expecting too much from the movie but it was worth seeing if you get it in IMAX. There were some scenes that were totally sick. I don't consider this movie really in my genre either, so if you're big on Sci Fi or the original, you'll love this.Originally Posted by Briman123

Re: TRON: Legacy
The story made absolutely no sense and the dialogue was terrible but I'll go see it again because it's one of the best looking movies I've ever seen and the music is amazing.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)Comment

Re: TRON: Legacy
Just got back. Thought the story was fine, and the acting/dialogue was ok. Nothing great, but I wasn't cringing or anything. Visually amazing movie, and holy crap I loved the soundtrack. Will probably see this one more time on IMAX.Comment

Re: TRON: Legacy
Went to go see it this morning and I was AMAZED! Being a huge fan of the original, Legacy just carried over how creative the Tron world can be. The visual effects were amazing and the music just went perfectly (and was like if Daft Punk were made for this movie). As someone posted earlier, didn't expectSpoilerRinzler to be Tron
Also, don't know if anyone has read this...http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.co...-for-tron-dvd/
Basically says Disney doesn't release some of the dvds for several years and cashes in when they do release them but the original Tron costs a pretty penny right now to own lol and they are gonna release both the original and Legacy as a combo pack on dvd and blu ray. I got my copy of Tron like two years ago and cost me around $10. It's crazy how much it is now.

Re: TRON: Legacy
Saw it last night. The visuals were impressive and the story was pretty good. Definitely a movie worth seeing in the theater.
I haven't seen the original in 20 years, but luckily my neighbor has it, so I'm going to borrow it from him.Comment

Re: TRON: Legacy
I would agree with most reviews here...AMAZING visual effects and PHENOMENAL soundtrack. Can't stop listening to it! Acting and story are average. But that doesn't matter when the visuals and score are as great as they are. I did see it in 3D which I think is a stupid gimmick. After a while, it loses it's effect and you don't even notice it. Plus, I hate wearing the glasses.NOW PLAYING: Battlefield 3, MLB 12 The Show

Re: TRON: Legacy
Like everyone else said, the visuals and score alone make this worth watching. Action scenes were intense. The story is nothing to write home about. There are a few powerful moments of dialogue but that's about it. Kind of dragged on towards the middle of the movie. Ending was a bit anticlimactic. Still, the visuals and score were breathtaking.
I saw the 3D version and didn't think it added much at all. The trailers before the movie utilized it much better, then you were kinda left wondering why you spent the extra dough to watch mediocre 3D effects on the movie.
EDIT: Also wanted to add that the character Gem is SMOKING HOT. If you agree, don't do an image search of the actress. Major letdown, lol.Last edited by HotSauce2k3; 12-28-2010, 11:41 PM.

I'm mad that there isn't a commentary on there, I was really looking forward to listening to that.Originally posted by BlzerLet me assure you that I am a huge proponent of size, and it greatly matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise.

Re: TRON: Legacy
Not to be 'that guy' but I'm really surprised by the number of positive posts regarding this movie. Maybe it's because I didn't get to see it in the cinema/3D but this was easily my most disappointing movie of the last 12 months and overall was a truly terrible movie imo.
The soundtrack was amazing and some of the effects were nice but the terrible story and even worse acting made it nearly unwatchable for me....Comment
