Getting rid of the Data Plan on AT&T smartphones/Nokia e71x?

Just as the topic says, I love the Nokia e71x, just because of the features that it has. Problem is, I don't use any of the features that require the "smartphone data plan". I hardly ever use the internet, I text my wife, and use the PDA options. So I'm paying $30 a month, for nothing.

Can anyone enlighten me on how to get AT&T to allow me to continue use of the phone, without a data plan?

They have a $10 unlimited internet plan. That is what I have and I have an LG Vu

This is their money maker though, so if you are locked in for an extra $20 a month it's gonna be tough getting out

I can't find just that option... Probably because it's a "smartphone"... thats a jack. Where we moved, the service is AWFUL, and there is no 3G... so it's pointless to have.

I was about to say that to.

Just have them cut off all data services. You won't be able to send or recieve pictures or anything either.

Or you can do it where you are just charged for what you use. Just don't rack up a $10,000 bill

Then again, you might just be screwed since you have a smart phone and they want to get all they can from you.
